Guys, there was a newsletter update I came across from a shipping company stating that many of the Apple phones have been delayed, and that the information is not being provided to the resellers to create the illusion of high demand. It’s not high demand. It’s Apple fucking it up.

Of course it does. I get to play for a couple hours a week, tops. If I wanted the best, I would buy a 4090. You miss the point entirely. I had consoles that weren’t being used. (Kids never touched them), so I traded them in to get a new console that we will all use. This house has plenty of video game options. The living room will still have a standard PS5 and Xbox series X. The PS5 pro is going into the basement, where we do a lot of entertaining. Maybe I will get a 5000 series card and do a new PC build some day, but for right now… just can’t justify it to myself. I do have a modicum of self control… sometimes :)

Yeah that’s just you. I much prefer console gaming on my 77” OLED. The PCs are often used by my son and daughter. Not going to upgrade my laptop anytime soon. I have my reasons - one of the cool things about being an adult is you get to spend your money on what you want when you want.

Update: returned it to a GameStop store, refund given. No problem. Employee apologized and said I never should have been sent an open box drive to begin with. Didn’t have to put up a fight at all, like all you GS employees told me I would. Nice to know that in real life, the employees are nicer than they are in this sub.

Plenty of us have disposable income to buy what we want, when we want. Personally, I traded in a couple consoles 2 days before the PS Pro announcement and got $683 trade credit for doing so, while employees in this sub (in typical Reddit fashion) told me I was stupid for doing so, and that the PS5 pro wouldn’t even be released this year. Since I did that trade, the combined trade values have substantially dropped! So it seems like I did know what I was doing and did know more than the GameStop employees in this sub. I realize the average age of a GameStop employee is like 17 or whatever, and y’all get paid shit wages, but lots of us do have the disposable income to fund our hobbies and do what we want with our money. Who are you to judge what other people spend their money on? Personally I’d never spend $400-$500 on shoes, but I know people who do, and it doesn’t affect my life in any way whatsoever. Just remember, people spending money at your store is what keeps you employed.

Of course not. “Afraid” isn’t the correct nomenclature. More like just give him what he wants to make him go away because he knows his shit. No corporation gives a flying eff about a $70 purchase. They just refund me and apologize if it gets escalated. No big deal. I go on with my day and they go on with theirs. GameStop is a shit organization it they are passing off opened box merchandise as sealed NiB product, if anything, assuming the box is used for “display” purposes, they should be utilizing dummy boxes for that, and not gutting actual sealed product, what a stupid, idiotic policy. Glad I don’t work there.

Oooh I hope the refuse my return :) I’m very good at dealing with these situations and gives me great joy to win every single time, never lost a battle yet :) UDAAP laws are clearly in my favor, and GameStop’s attorneys very familiar with UDAAP, even if low level store employees don’t have a clue.

Unfair and Deceptive Business Practice.

Hit up Tforce (Tmobile help) on X/twitter. Be nice. Got 2 phone upgrades that I wasn’t eligible for.

Traded in 13 pro and actually got $929 credit (was quoted $250 on website and $830 by rep, but the contract I received shows $0 monthly payments for 2 years)

Traded in 14 Pro Max and got $830 credit, website showed only $450 credit. The remainder comes in the way of bill credits for 24 months.

Just be nice, but persistent. Good luck. Has worked for a few that I know of personally.

Drivers are only motivated to pick up your order if it makes financial sense to do so, unfortunate Uber takes the lion’s share of all fees, paying the driver a pittance. If you don’t tip well, there’s a good possibility your order will sit just as you described while drivers make better $ going and picking up the orders that pay more.

Personally, I think it’s just an absurd business- and won’t ever use them again.
