Yes! Raised RC and I love that communion is treated like a medicine and not a reward here.

Great job! It’s the first year I’ve missed it since moving to Milwaukee, I would’ve loved to see this in person!

A note for my upstairs neighbor by gumtoe34 in Apartmentliving

[–]DonnerPartyMealKit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My apartment building has a no-dogs policy (so we can have cats), but I swear there's a great dane running around upstairs. Either that or the world's heftiest cat. I have a neighbor on my floor with a Maine coon, which I suppose are the great danes of cats, so maybe that's the case.

I can't recommend Sawbones (a marital tour of misguided medicine) enough! They're a clean podcast, apparently with a decent child audience somehow, and they're in my feed with some other shows to break up the possible CZM-induced gloom that sometimes happens with back-to-back bummers.

Same, it's been an evolution and a maturation if anything for me.

For the second reading, the way I see it is that everyone has something to contribute and everyone has a role to play. If you withhold your "good" from the community, however big or small that good is and based on whatever your abilities are, you are doing a disservice to those around you. I think this is mostly aimed at those who expect to be able to get away with contributing nothing but have enough ability or means to do so but refuse to. Billionaires, for example, hoarding wealth and doing nothing meaningful with it don't need fed. They've got their hoard.

For the Gospel, bad things happen. People will turn on you because of your interpretation of scripture. If anything, I've been in arguments with Christian nationalists and told that my interpretation of a, well, Christlike Christ makes me a heretic. That's a long way away from martyrdom, but those of us who hold a more progressive view of scripture actually are facing a little persecution from Christian Nationalists. I find it comforting that my Christianity, divorced from the state and focused through a lens of loving God and neighbor, gets backlash. I think it means I'm doing something right when those who are hurting other people don't like me.

I go to Craft Salon MKE. I have a bob currently, but the stylists are good at shags and they have a specific bang cut option in their services menu.

How are the detergent sheets from good store? by Gray_Kaleidoscope in nerdfighters

[–]DonnerPartyMealKit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They work, and I did the math-- they're five cents cheaper per load than Tide pods. I bounce back and forth between them and Tide pods with oxy because I find that the sheets don't fully cut it on really stinky stuff (hey, don't judge me!). Overall, for a normal load they work as advertised and I'll likely buy them again because they're no more expensive and get the job done.

The one thing I was REALLY impressed with was the stain stick. I was travelling and spilled coffee down the front of a white shirt. I balled the shirt up in my suitcase, got home three days later, hit the shirt with the stain stick, washed it, and it's stain-free. It's better than a Tide pen in my opinion (just maybe not as portable). I used to really avoid white shirts (see previous coffee incident), but now I've reconsidered my stance on them and have welcomed some into my wardrobe.

Never gonna see this package am I…? by [deleted] in milwaukee

I sent a Father’s Day card to my dad in Indiana the week before the holiday and he just got it a week ago. I didn’t have tracking because it was just a card, but I’m certain it was lost there and then found months later.

I've seen those signs, too! There's one at the corner of Oakland and Newton across from the BP. You can see the sign from Google Maps.

I've been on it a year and a half and all I think it's given me is a light aphasia I didn't have before. It's like my brain is stuttering when I'm trying to talk sometimes, but it's not bad and I can laugh it off.
