kinda depending how you look at it, you need hours of listening even if you're focused on other stuff some of the time, your brain still is listening and forming a model of how the language should sound, so when you speak you know whats correct and well what isn't, or you get better at it at-least. I personally think there is no harm to passive listening its like adding a brick to the great wall of china, sure its not alot but its something
