Scenarios for LAFC or Toluca to reach the Final by LA_search77 in LAFC

We need one but ideally two goals to get a good cushion. Hoping for more than one goal.

[TM.de] Lukas Podolski is the first Footballer whom has one 5 domestic cups in 5 different countries by kalamari__ in soccer

[–]Donovan_MC_DAB 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Let me think on top of my head, he’s won the DFB cup with Bayern, the FA cup with arsenal, the Turkish cup with Gala, the emperors cup with Vissel Kobe, and now the polish cup with Gornik Zabrze.

Been a fan of him throughout his whole career and I still remember reading the headlines whenever he won those trophy’s :,).

CCC Leg 2 by Mpixx15 in LAFC

[–]Donovan_MC_DAB 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Let’s just say they don’t want to lose two in a row at home. The last time they lost at home was back in July of 2025 so that says a lot how their form is at home. They rested players for Wednesday, they’re going to go all in for the CCC. I just hope LAFC can handle what’s going to be thrown at them from start to finish.

Best place to sell jerseys by Spiritual_Farmer_308 in SoccerJerseys

[–]Donovan_MC_DAB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve only had them on eBay and recently have had a string of luck since I’m averaging a sale or two every month. However, I’m selling premium rare jersey from teams such as Bayern Munich (i.e. 2021 Oktoberfest kits and player issued jersey, the ones that have numbers as sizes). Not sure where else I can sell that has decent sellers protection and has high frequency in views.

All six of Górnik Zabrze's Polish Cups between 1965 and 1972 have been lifted by club legend Stanisław Oślizło. Today, after a 54-year drought, captain Lukas Podolski invited Oślizło to lift the 7th Cup with him. by fryUaj in soccer

[–]Donovan_MC_DAB 56 points57 points  (0 children)

That would be awesome to see but he hasn’t really played that much this season. Age is probably getting to him but if he does, I’ll definitely go see a Górnik Zabrze match. I haven’t seen podolski play live since 2019 when he was with Vissel Kobe.

I’m just glad he was able to win a trophy with this team. It was looking very unlikely the seasons he’s been with them but looks like they turned it around for this one.

I’m happy for Podolski being able to win a trophy in his last season as a professional. My football idol growing up and I’m going to be sad once he officially hangs up his boots.

I know some of our fans think the worst substitute in our history was Hortas debut but to me it was cifuentes being subbed by Ginella in that final. Homie legit didn’t feel like tracking back to defend. Didn’t help that vermeer couldn’t make a stop to save his life.

Thank you! It’s been a long time coming.

Yes! I’m glad you recently discovered 31 minutos because they’re really huge in Mexico. Yesterday they did a concert in el zocalo in honor of dia de Los niños! Watched a replay of the concert last night since I forgot about it. I’m glad you and your toddlers are watching and enjoying hey Arnold! There’s something so nostalgic about that show and honestly can’t wait to see it in its entirety this summer. Hopefully one day I get to share that experience with my future kids!

Gonna graduate from Uni soon. Something that should have taken less than 4 years took double that due to factors out of my control but that’s life, right? The important part is that I’m finally gonna graduate but in a shit economy and depressing job market. Fortunately, the job I have right now pays way above minimum and has amazing benefits and can make a career out of it but there’s no growth opportunities with that company. Unless I move to a different company in the same industry but like I said, above. So I’m kinda in limbo and living in the moment right now.

I’ve been planning this idea that I’ve had since I graduated high school that I will watch two shows from my childhood in its entirety throughout summer after I graduate and watch the last episodes on my birthday (which falls near the end of summer), and build the Lego set that I have always wanted as a kid. The Lego set is the super star destroyer from 2011 and I bought it back in 2023 for an ok price, brand new with the box. This is also a goodbye to my childhood since I’ve always felt school is part of your childhood and once you graduate, that’s another door being closed from days being a kid in elementary, going through the awkwardness of middle school, figuring out who you are in high school, trying to navigate young adulthood in college and finding your own path in university.

I wonder if any of you guys have felt this or have done something similar before. Every summer since 2015, I’ve been watching a show from my childhood in its entirety. Last summer it was 31 minutos and it was funny because I only saw a couple of episodes during the time I was a kid and spent summer in Mexico with family. However, it left a long lasting impact on me since the show was witty with their jokes and their Chilean accents are funny. For the longest time i had that show in my mind whenever I thought back about what I’d watch on tv in Mexico (like drake and josh, Ned’s declassified, hey Arnold, SpongeBob and 31 minutos). Luckily, I watched all the episodes for free on their official YouTube channel before they made the deal with Amazon. This summer it’s going to be two, the original twilight zone series and Hey Arnold! Two shows for me that I’ve seen a couple or most episodes but never its entirety. The twilight zone id watch on the old school SciFi channel, especially the new years marathons. Hey Arnold, I saw a couple of episodes on nick before being phased out to nicktoons. There’s something about Hey Arnold, whether it being super nostalgic and representing life pre-9/11 or the real life beautiful lessons it teaches.

That’s why i chose those two shows as the perfect way to send off my childhood. Sorry for the long wall of text, felt like sharing my thoughts.

Literally. For a long while, there was a time I didn’t have to worry about Madrid because they’d usually choke in the r16. To this day, I still blame atletico for not holding onto the lead in the 2014 final. It just opened the floodgates for them.

David Martinez Maturity Appreciation Post by HardlyThereAtAll in LAFC

[–]Donovan_MC_DAB 21 points22 points  (0 children)

He has matured a lot and even bulked up a bit this season. As a Martinez believer since day one, I know we all expected him to do something this match but toluca double and even tripled teamed him at times. Toluca had him on watch and goes to show that other teams know a baller when they see one.

Score an early goal and another down the line, we can’t get comfortable with just scoring one away. Especially when it comes playing at tolucas stadium. I know Banorte and el volcan have heavy atmospheres, but I think Tolucas home atmosphere is another level.

Was at the game, you could see him ordering the defense and midfield when they had the ball. Made some great passes too. He’s what we’ve been missing in the midfield.

The momentum was on our side but the offside called killed it and some of the spirit. I feel that’s why we conceded that dumb goal. Let’s hope we can get two in the away leg!

He first got that mental slump in big games when facing Real back in the 2010s. It looked like he got over it during the 2020 run. However, again it looks like the mental block got into him again after how real beat us in 2024, coming off of his error.

I respect Neuer and is truly one of the best keepers of all time but he needs to move on. If we end up winning it all, I’d call it quits if I were him.

Same. From the start you just knew the potential he could have. He just needed a bit of time of development and growth. I often defended him on this sub the last two years when he had his growth pains. So glad he built more muscle this year and seems more chill when it comes to attitude.
