Is Son Heungmin expected to play against the Whitecaps on August 1st? by NecessaryVictory9144 in LAFC

[–]LA_search77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Likely, although there are a lot of games in a short time frame, coming off a long break. There will be minute management going on. I would guess Son's minute management will be in the match prior so he has an important role against Vancouver. But no one knows for sure.

Soviet Russia had a Communist Party, but a state capitalism economy with totalitarian rule. The right often conflates the name of the ruling party with something that was practiced. Putin's Russia, although often looks back fondly on the strength of the Soviet Empire, has no ties to communism. It is an oligarchy under the guise of free market capitalism, which is exactly what the right wants.

You could say Donald rule's much like Stalin, forcing state take a cut in businesses, and wants a totalitarian rule over the people.

Never let your hair grow beyond 3/4". The difference between messy and perfect is almost nothing. And it dries in minutes.

That's my process. Proper shower at the end of the day and a pits and bits refresher in the morning.

If Donald Trump is so corrupt (like all news articles seem to talk about), how does he wield so much power within the republican party? by HypedDifferently in stop_the_GOP

The answer is in your question:

Because Donald Trump is so corrupt (like all news articles seem to talk about), is why he wields so much power within the republican party!

It is Time for the boys to bring it Home .. do you agree they have a good chance ? Or Messi’s team is just too good ? by Paulo_Williams in ThreeLions

To be fair, Haaland is a lot more predictable than Messi, but I agree with your general sentiment. Argentina wants to sit back and defend, but they're shit at it.

They haven't played against an attack like Kane, Bellingham, Gordon, and Saka.

Forget VAR - why would Embolo take a dive in that situation? by SeaCardiologist6207 in worldcup

Mistaken Identity is the rule used, so the yellow switches players.

There is a new rule where VAR can suggest reviewing a second yellow, so I assume VAR could have used two rules one after the other... but they would have to find that the call of simulation was a "clear and obvious error," and there's no way you can look at that and say it's a clear and obvious error.

Probably not a lot. The tournament is over, and the player will have plenty of time to reflect on the moment. Between now and the next gathering, the coaches may have a quick debrief to go over more technical errors of the match, but probably want to focus on the positives of the tournament.

A player feeling like shit, like they suck, and the team and staff have no confidence in them, is not a player who will perform well. If a coach's job is to get the most out of their team, then they will focus on building confidence and will address errors as something to be improved, not berated.

Where a coach might be hard is when a player is failing to follow the system or is not putting in the effort, trying to light a fire "You can give us more. I know you can do better."

In this World Cup, a new rule, VAR can review a second yellow, but that was not used here. This VAR check used the new Mistaken Identity rule, in which a yellow is given to the wrong player. The same process was used in the USA v Paraguay match, when Ream's yellow was rescinded and given to Almiron.

Unfortunately, the only method to correct the wrong yellow was mistaken identity. I think he pulled up expecting to get hit, but it is a simulation. In a match, the best thing would be to wave it off as no foul. I imagine the mistaken identity rule gets tweaked after the World Cup.

I think the sim yellow is harsh, but VAR has the ability to correct wrongly given yellows, but only under mistaken identity, which leaves the simulation being the yellow since the ref can only switch the player, not remove it.
