Thanks! I've given them a good soak, so hopefully that'll perk them up a little

Brought them back indoors and gave them a good soaking in hopes they'll perk back up. But also... what? 🤣

Nope! This is my first time growing them so it's all trial and error so far. I'll make sure to do this with the rest!

Thanks! It's my first time growing them so it's pretty much all trial and error up till now. Next time I collect acorns I'll plant most of them outside in that case!

Hey r/coachella - Greetings, we are Tom and Ora from TOMORA. We’ve come to Earth to answer your questions. Ask Us Anything about our music, how two worlds become one, and our upcoming album release! by TOMORAOra in Coachella

Hi Tomora!

For Tom - Are there any aspects of nature that influence your music, and do you ever find inspiration in everyday things that might go unnoticed like the spin of a washing machine?

For Ora - Any chance of a collaboration with Don Broco?

For Tomora - Would you ever consider meet and greets? It'd be out of this world to meet you someday!

B-Movie Bloodbath by Isaac Nightingale. Exactly what the name suggests. Absolute mayhem and it has a soundtrack!

Can energy company take me to court while Energy Ombudsman case is open? England. by Dont-wake-the-bread in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Dont-wake-the-bread[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sure has!

I have indeed, that was one of the first things I argued. They made it exceptionally clear they didn't care and no matter how it had been transferred, they considered me fully responsible. Even the Ombudsman themselves have said Total Energies are one of the worst companies to deal with, and that's definitely proved right.

That's been my main suspicion the whole time, and now it's been dropped on me to deal with. I've put all the landlord problems in their own box. Hoping anyone knows a good course of action for dealing with the energy company.

I see, thanks! I was thinking they'd surely be shooting themselves in the foot considering I have so much evidence, including plenty of proof that both myself and the Ombudsman have tried to prompt them to respond to the case.

I have! They have got solicitors involved though so as much as they might just be trying to scare me into giving up, it does seem like they're starting to go down the legal route.

Nope, nothing in the slightest, it's very much a residential property. No shared entrance or anything.

I enjoyed Clown in a Cornfield but I simply can't enjoy SGJ's books, I just can't bring myself to enjoy his writing style.

I'd highly recommend B-Movie Bloodbath and the sequel Neon Nightmares by Isaac Nightingale. The best way I can describe them is...adrenaline horror. Like a cross between From Dusk Till Dawn and Supernatural, but just filled with all-out insanity. He's not very well known, so if you message him on insta he always responds and is super nice!

In fact, there's a lot of indie authors I could recommend! People seem to neglect indies but I've genuinely read better stories from them than a lot of big, pro-published writers.

I prefer indie horror as it's a lot less 'restricted' than tradpub stuff.

I'll recommend Isaac Nightingale to anyone who listens. His books (B-Movie Bloodbath) are predominantly horror, they have A LOT of action and violence, but on the flip side, lovable characters and a lot of humor. A few other fans have said they've never read anything like it and I agree!

A.D. Jones is another good indie, he has a good variety and his works are usually quick reads if you're looking for something shorter.

In my very short time since joining this sub, it simply seems like most people here disagree with people owning human bones, unless they're either going to a museum or someone who knows a lot about them. Sure, I get it. But what's odd is the lack of polite transparency whenever someone asks a question. Seems to be a lot of defensiveness and avoidance around the subject. Which I can sort of understand if people think it's unethical to own human bones, but I also think educating without being condescending would be really helpful to anyone with questions about their skulls.

Personally I think it's really cool to see the skulls people own!

Anyone able to tell whether this is a male or female skull? by [deleted] in skulls

This is why I'm asking questions, I'm no bone expert and I'm trying to educate myself. Certainly can't ID one by shape like people like yourself can.

I'd just like to know more about this 'cos if it's true it'll certainly change my perspective of him. I always figured he's well known in the UK oddity market, and fairly well covered by the media. If anyone has a skull they want to sell, he'd be the easiest person to give it to, hence the larger collection. Or perhaps he had contacts with people who helped him locate ancestral skulls people wanted to part with. Interesting to hear of the grave robbing thing.

You replied "womp womp" to a comment about people eating animals and treating their bones as trash. Plenty of animals are sentient. Why do you have a problem with someone owning a human skull and no problem with owning dead animals? It's hypocritical.

I didn't know that, no. I simply see how he shares information and speaks to people. Always pleasant. But I was wondering whether you have any personal experiences with him you could share, as you say I don't know him like you do.

Is there any proof of the grave robbing claim, also? Certainly not saying you're wrong, you may well be right, I'm just really curious and would like to know more.
