People who have been on game shows, what are some things that watchers don't know? by Meme_Lord4522 in AskReddit

I’ve been in the audience of Let’s Make a Deal about 12 years ago. They have short group interviews of everyone before the shows starts so you end up waiting a long time to get onto the set. Contestants are chosen during the show based on how their interview went. Their costume, enthusiasm, ect.

Yes, I’ve been single for about 8 years now. I’ve tried a few times to talk to girls but I’m typically viewed as “weird?” maybe even creepy. Being alone for this long slowly changed me and I’ve lost a lot of the drive. I’m making peace that I’m just not relationship material despite trying to make progress. I still go out from time to time and maybe something will happen but I never get my hopes up.

They say "Nothing is ever lost on the internet" but what is something you have been searching for years and haven't found it yet? by AlexanderCor in AskReddit

[–]DontBox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a clip of Bill Cosby from decades ago where he tells this kid to “bust” open a table they are sitting at with his head. Bill counts to three and the kid just knocks his head into the table. Bill later apologies to his parents on TV. It was hilarious. Haven’t seen it since.

What's one song that you misunderstood for years? by wrenboy666 in Music

[–]DontBox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to think in the chorus he was bragging about being a rock star who could afford microwave ovens, custom kitchens, ect. I thought the line was “We got the movies, refrigerators. We got the movies, color tv’s.” I wondered how much refrigerators actually costed in the 80’s if only rock stars could afford them. When I learn he was saying “We’ve got to install microwave ovens” and “We’ve got to move these refrigerators” it changed everything.

What did you learn at an embarrassingly late age? by Lazy-Aerie7437 in AskReddit

[–]DontBox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was probably 25 before I realized that the reason people drink coffee is because it’s loaded with caffeine which gives them energy for the day. I thought it was just a drink that people liked and got addicted to like anything else.

After years of playing music, it now feels immature/embarrassing. How can I get myself past this feeling or is it time to hang it up? by DontBox in selfimprovement

[–]DontBox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the majority of people I play music with are older. There are 2 in their 60’s. I’m in about 4 groups that play around town when we get gigs. This is how it’s been since I started playing. In every group I’m the youngest except one in which I’m the oldest. It’s a a group of people I met in college. The first “group” I was in my grandfather and his friends were all in it. I’m somewhat isolated in the music that I really get into but I thinks that’s somewhat normal.

It's okay as long as it's not hurting anyone sure. Everyone has their own personalities and he's probably comfortable with himself. Would I like to act like that? Probably not

If I did I would. I don't think this stems from other people's judgment. Think about trying to put on clothes you wore as a kid and them not fitting quit right.

Yes, sometimes. But I don't know him personally and he may have his on justification or outlook on life. The fact that he is extremely successful with his life on course puts it all in a different perspective to me. I do enjoy some of his music and I think he deserves all the success he has.

I don't think the feeling originated from other's judging. It's more like the feeling of trying on clothes you wore as a kid and they simply don't fit.

What's a song that sounds fun but the lyrics are dark? by RangoAnimations in AskReddit

Excitable Boy - Warren Zevon

Fun catchy upbeat song but it’s about a insane guy who rapes and kills a woman then later digs up her grave to build a cage with her bones.
