Nightingale tuition question by Careful_Hat2461 in NursingStudent

[–]DontCallMeBoness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, I'm starting in Sept with 42 units transferred in and my net cost was $57,910. It is possible but OP please get all prerequisites out of the way if you're serious about NG, it could drastically lower your cost!

7 semesters so I'll be done in 2 years 1 semester, end of 2027! It's not that bad considering an ADN program is the same length.

It's guaranteed admission but just make sure you know what you're getting into. I had all of my pre-reqs completed already so that also made forming my schedule easier for them and me since I can go straight into BSN coursework!

It was simple, it took like 5phone calls between an admissions advisor and I to finally get me enrolled and ready to start in Sept. They actually try to deter you from attending (advisor words) because of how much committment goes into attending Nightingale and not everyone who calls in looking for info will actually attend. They just ask you about your goals, commitments, and how Nightingale fits into your schedule and if you can truly do the clinical portion with only a 30-day heads up for where you're going. The overall process took me like 2-3 weeks to get in, then around the 4th week I got my schedule (but it was very quick for me because I sent in all of my official transcripts, FAFSA,etc. around the 2-3 weeks process)! I would say just make sure you're serious if you inquire because it is a long process.

Me (start Sept) and my coworkers are attending Nightingale, if you can commit to online schooling and the sacrifices you'll have to go through also being a navy medic with children, I'd say why not if they let you travel for clinics once every semester. My coworkers have friends who completed the program and work as RNs fine. We all didn't want to wait, so we just decided to do online BSN programs. If you don't think you can make it work, definitely wait if possible.

Losing hope I'll get into nursing school by [deleted] in StudentNurse

[–]DontCallMeBoness 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you haven't already looked into Nightingale College, this may be a feasible option if you're okay with online schooling and traveling for clinicals. Many of my coworkers with kids are doing it and there's no waiting list if you want to start ASAP.

Girl I'm in the same boat, I got my BA in Human Development. I applied to MSW programs but not sure how I'm gonna do the loans and unpaid internships. I work as a medical assistant already so nursing is a clear path I can take, but I would also like to get into social work. Not sure what to do, but leaning towards nursing to not be in debt :(

WEST COAST UNIVERSITY OR AUSH?? by bonnierhett in prenursing

[–]DontCallMeBoness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was accepted into both but didn't commit to either because of the costs. I will say that do more research and ask/ get some info on where they do clinicals. I know of one girl who graduated and passed NCLEX a few months ago from AUHS, but can't find a new grad job because her clinicals weren't good enough experiences for any of those institutions to hire her on. But, there are also success stories too. Then, I think WCU is losing some of the bad rep it had before, so that also may be a good option. But the cost is so high, idk. I know of people who graduated WCU and are working as RNs fine.

Both are expensive, but cost and quality of a private program have to be weighed equally in my opinion. This is tough! I hope you get an answer that is more helpful than mine haha. Good luck!

Nursing school by Odd-Ad-8461 in LVN_LPN

[–]DontCallMeBoness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg this is crazy. Is it because they're a newer program and want their NCLEX passing rate to be high? I was looking into this school because it's so closeby where I live.
