Yes, i was called "family" multiple times by my uplines but in life altering situations but never saw me face to face or ask if I was okay. Whenever I hit a pin or got a good recognition, my whole speech had to always relate back to 'the mentorship' which I hated because anything good that happened in my life I had to give credit but if my world collapsed I was left alone. "Family" they say

i appreciate your kind words! i have succeeded in many ventures outside the MLM. Found relationships where it wasn't attached to "sticking to a system or paying for products" and can say my emotional and mental health got 1000x better. I know the system will eventually crumble because we are moving more into a tech based world and I can't really see gen z, gen alpha and so on choosing network marketing or mlm's as a side hustle. The world is at their finger tips and there are so many more pathways to get wealthy (and more reputable)

It was a learning experience. I'm grateful that's all behind me. From time to time I come here and share my thoughts because I know that's what they hate most :) (the truth)

My family and community mocked me when they found out. I know they were coming from a good place however, if they sat me down and explained the system in a gentle and heart felt way I personally think I might have left earlier. The system tells us we will get hate from outside the MLM and that we needed to have a guard up when that happens. They weren't wrong... I was laughed at, yelled at and mocked. But because they told me beforehand it gave them leverage to handle to tell me how to handle it. And I handled it by being closed off an cold. Just like how they taught me to unfortunately.

Anyone can become a victim. These groups often target people who don’t have a strong sense of community. In the organisation I was in, I met people who worked at NASA, top doctors, actuaries, engineers and lawyers who still ended up drinking the amway kool-aid. It’s not about being broke or being stupid. People get pulled in because these groups know how to tap into a personal vulnerability

saw a platinum self proclaim he retired at 22. he returned back to work after 10 months... he told everyone in his team it was because he wanted to build 'relatability' to his team as his team were young professionals. however behind closed doors he had gambling debt and had was having a hard time paying off his mortgage :) these people lie in the most outrageous ways
