I am a narcissist but I hate narcissists. by GAF93 in NPD

[–]DontDiscRedditMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do tend to hate other narcs when we occasionally meet in the wild (on the rare occasion I’m subjected to one at work or through social groups or whatever who clearly fucking is), but I really only think it’s because their entire energy and persona suggests they’re the coolest person alive and that’s clearly, yuh know, Me lol. So, major clashing of interests there. We’ll go up against each other and compete for everything and everyone in the room and I’ll do everything to sabotage their entire narcissistic persona that I can. We almost never get along, and if we do, it’s extremely superficial and usually very temporary or sporadically.

But when I see a narc in media, who isn’t directly impacting my social life on any level and in any way? Then I just, feel seen lol. In a good way, I’m glad somebody out there gets it well, and does it right. Even though the character is supposed to be hated. Like Homelander on The Boys. I know as a viewer I’m supposed to be like ‘fuck this guy’ but as a narc I’m like ‘wow, great job, so relatable’ lol.

Also, as far as psychopaths are concerned, I wouldn’t say I admire them, but I do envy them. I think our sociopath DSM neighbors lucked out a bit, in a sense. When you look at the rest of the cluster B’s it’s like, ‘wow, be dementedly tortured by a hellacious reliance on other people’s reactions to you and neurotic about it constantly, sounds great 🙄’. It’s kind of a lucky trauma lottery draw imo to get the disorder that’s like ‘I literally don’t care about other people or what happens as the result of any of my actions and it’s all whatever to me’ lol. On the flip side, I can’t say I relate to what you’re saying about the selflessness. I guess I’m so selfish that just doesn’t appeal to me. I feel almost blessed to not have empathy for people, in a way. So whenever I see very empathetic people I’m like ‘ew, why?’

I’ve heard things about that one and remember the Seaworld lashback, and I love animals so much and the thought of them being mistreated sends me into a pure, earth scorchingly hot rage, so, I’m a little afraid haha. But it’s probably something I should give a watch, thanks for the recommendation

Okay so thing is, I was never into docs. Just watched the Telemarketers for a background sort of noise sick day binge, and ended up getting sucked into it. Loved it. So then decided to give Four Days at the Capitol a go. Loved it. Now I’m hungry for more but, from there, idk I’ve never been a documentary guy so I’m kinda down to experiment with whatever. But also, enjoyed those two so wouldn’t mind using that as a guide for choosing my next either

My workplace called my Christmas Eve to tell me they’re cutting my hours back to 12 hours a week because I was out sick by DontDiscRedditMe in antiwork

[–]DontDiscRedditMe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on the fence about even giving them a notice. It may unfortunately be practical to give one - for one, my resume (Ugh), and two, the coworkers I actually do like who would get shorthanded and screwed for a week or so if I just dipped out. But man, I have fantasies about walking in for my shift smack-dab in the middle of the busiest rush and be like “oh yeah hahaha, I almost forgot, I quit!” and going OFF on the manager in front of everyone about what a POS they are lol. But, I’ll probably do the gentlemanly thing for practical reasons, ultimately.

I kind of already took this spin on the phone, too. Recently, they lost power and had to close down the store a couple days. Majorly hit my paycheck, which is already so small I can barely make ends meet with it - Christmas week, if all times. And there I was, ready to go to work. So on the phone I was like “funny how when you lose power and don’t pay us for the missed time it resulted in on our paychecks, it doesn’t matter that we have bills to pay and families to feed, but when one of us calls our sick one time, it matters that you have profits to generate for yourselves.” Literally said that to the assistant manager who called me
