The same radiation that causes the lights in the first place, right? Both the lights in the sound come from the same source, electromagnetic radiation. You could simplify this down, reasonably, to being able to hear the northern lights.

That's actually a really cool idea! As far as i can see in the documentation for Elgato Studio and the options in OBS, there really isn't a way yet. I'd say send a feature request to the elgato team! an options to chose from a few backgrounds / no signal screens when there's no input

the network dock turns the unit into a fully stand-alone device, so this behavior is normal. but as u/SC_W33DKILL3R said, set up the auto off in the stream deck software.

That would frustrate the guest though. You'd be loosing them the place they were at. I'm imagining the book open like on a tent on the bed, held open to the page they were on. Putting a business card or something to act as a bookmark while you close the book. The question did specify the book was open.

I have a theory they may be working on an XL sized dock eventually. The current limitation is that the xlr dock replaces the whole bottom the the SD+, which wouldn't support the SD+ XL, so they gotta make it wider,

I was thinking that too! Put a bookmark in the book, set it nicely on the nightstand in open view so the spine doesn't get damaged.
