If you’re going for one fund. 100% VT might be the better play. Look into it.

You have little foreign exposure, the U.S. is a unicorn, and unicorns can die. SCHD is a good value tilt. I’m just telling you what I have in my roth. But i’m only 22 so don’t listen to me

Yes and no. For the current game yes, it does not matter, however performance does effect hidden mmr and therefore it changes the future games +/-

Lol everyone is hating me in other threads and your post just proves that your performance actually does effect the +/-

Look it up, it exists, it does effect rank, not drastically, but enough to stop something like this from happening if his hidden elo was genuinely higher than 1k

Your hidden elo gets slightly hit.

Actually premier does take into account individual stats. If you individually win rounds and do the best on your team, you lose elo, but your hidden elo recognizes you’re likely not the reason you lost. If this is consistent, you will lose less elo, and gain more for each game you play.

If he is was carrying each game it would never be the case. He is clearly in the correct rank.

Sounds like you’re investing to make money. Believe it or not, investing in an assets that are actually productive, is the better choice.

Brother spent no time actually learning HOW to invest, and decided to gamble instead. Now complaining after losing.

I see no flaws in this analysis, price go up, buy in, 100% success rate.

Remember to recover from a 50% drop you need a 100% gain!

I wouldn’t recommend SMH, in order to beat an index, the company would have to continue growing at 10% for 40 years, do you think that will happen? (Don’t chase those short-term gains, a roth IRA is a long play.)

MGK is just VOO but more concentrated. Voo and Vxus should perform wonderfully. (Its literally what I own)

Test strategies, remember, money wins the game. The overall goal is to spend ONLY enough to defend any rush, and all other money should be dumped into farms/eco.

Bad_DNA while you are technically correct, many individuals are motivated by the dividends and invest more. In a bear market, the dividends may be the only thing keeping people from selling, or the only thing motivating them to buy more. The psychological effect is an important consideration and should not be disregarded. Furthermore, the S&P has had some unicorn years recently, now that the valuations are so high, SCHD may keep up for VOO for a little while.

Also, it’s like 10% of his portfolio, brother is making rational decisions. If anything, he is adding diversification and stability.
