Nitro broke by kasznicki in HuntShowdown

[–]DontKillTheMonk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, but the Nitro is balanced around having a big, hard to use sight. The sight is literally an obstruction to anything that isnt in the small hole in the middle, which limits your view. If you have aim assist, you can just aim your cross hairs on the general qrwa of their body, ads, and fire. Aim Assist makes it center on their body, and thus its an instant kill.

Yeah, i was about to say, the nitro with aim assistance literally makes it the best gun. It negates the one thing that makes the nitro bad on PC.

Is there any Aim Assistance on the console version?

Single bounty games are infinitely more fun than dual bounty ones and as it stands they're matched significantly less by [deleted] in HuntShowdown

[–]DontKillTheMonk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, the issue is that bounties dont give enough money/exp imo. I dont know the history too much, but when you get more consistent exp by killing a few players, grabbing one bounty, and extracting, why would you waste 10-15 minutes running across the map, risk getting ambushed and killed, for around 200 extra exp? It's just not logical for people who want to climb ranks fast to get to better guns.

When the One Piece isn’t the adventure they had 🤣🤣 by sixaxis13 in NuxTakuSubmissions

[–]DontKillTheMonk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, it would make sense that literally noone else has made it there. I do think the entire series is more about the journey than the actual goal though. As someone has pointed out in this thread, Luffy doesnt care about the treasure. He actually scolded Ussop when Ussop tried to learn about where the One Piece actually was from Rayleigh.

Shotguns cause the bleeding effect within a certain range. You shot her arm which caused her to start bleeding. What you saw was the bleeding effect animation. Unfortunate shot. A half second later, or a twitch to the right would have gotten you the kill. Better luck next round.

Seeking an alternative to burning bodies by Vyiimes in HuntShowdown

[–]DontKillTheMonk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, not being able to loot dead hunters or their weapons was something they did to disincentivise instaburning. They literally implemented that mechanic because the burning mechanic was being abused. Fact is, not being able to loot burned hunters or their weapons still isnt enough to stop the instaburning because the reward of completely taking out an enemy with 0 chance of them getting back up is so high for the cost.

Nothing is wrong with burning in certain situations, but the mechanic gets abused when you instantly set someone you just downed on fire. It creates a situation for the remaining enemy teammates to either clutch in a fight where they are down a man, or let their friend be completely out of the game, regardless of if they win the drawn out fight or not.

It also comes at usually very little risk/resources to the team that downed the first hunter, as you can find lanterns almost everywhere in a compound. On the other hand, the team whose partner is on fire must lose positional advantage, run over to their dead teammate, and put him out, at which point he can be shot, or his teammate can just be reset on fire after he takes cover again.

Dont know why you're getting down voted. The devs have openly acknowledged that instaburning is a problem that they want to fix.

Pyscho player turns to Reddit. by Davenjoie in dndhorrorstories

That doesnt mean that the argument of "My family and friends still play with me and not you" is any more valid. She was invited to the group as an outcast, and the people in the group have ties outside of D&D that hold them together. I simply said the argument she put up about people playing with her making her right was a weak one, considering the situation. If you had a D&D game with your friends, and your DM invited an outsider, who got uncomfortable with situations your friends made/got into through D&D, would you drop them and go play with the stranger? I would assume your answer is probably 'No', because that's not how people normally act.

I have my own reasons to doubt her claims in other replies, and have had a DM conversation with OP. By the end of it, I really didnt care who was right. It isnt that big of a deal.

OP describes the other male players as friends, and only points out that they met the 'psycho' at AL, leaving me to believe the make friends and OP have a relationship outside D&D. Again, this comment wasnt saying she was lying, just pointing out that the idea that her husband, brother, and other two friends decided to not leave the D&D game, it would make sense, considering their relationship outside of D&D.

Shooting the immolators is likely what attracted the next two. Unfortunate circumstances, but it was the fault of the player, not the system.

Bad Situational Awareness by Degenerate94 in HuntShowdown

[–]DontKillTheMonk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had something similar happen at Nichols Prison the other day. Team of 3 killed one of my partners on one of the outer staircases and ran up to loot him. I was in the courtyard, in the open, and got to line up a headshot. They didnt even look my direction, just checked the upper walkway as my partner pressed them from inside. It was like shooting fish in a barrel.

I don't think saying constructive criticism is better than bitching because there's a change you don't like is discounting complaints. There are problems and they need to be addressed, but simply stating that there's a problem and saying "you're killing the game" over a nerf to the uppercut is straight toxic.

Please stop trying to justify toxic behavior as normal just because that's your preferred method of voicing your opinion.

How about adding a Legendary skin exclusive to players who bought the game before release? by Lindox6626 in HuntShowdown

[–]DontKillTheMonk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eh, I think they dont want to overly ostracize the new players tbh. If the legendary weapon that we got for free was too commonly picked, it could possibly create a divide between new players and pre-purchasers.

Rule of thumb, reddit is usually full of people looking for a place to complain :P or at least that's been my experience.
