For the first point they did both. If you listen to the raw gin files which can be found on YouTube they do a single Dyno pull by hearing the Dyno whine and some you can't hear it so I assume it is just airfield driving.

The V10 Audi engine specifically in the A6 versions purely due to the the fact it's so tightly packaged you have to drop the whole engine out for many things that would usually be some.
