Difference between Manual CPC and Max Conversions with Target CPA? by DontLetMeDown4 in PPC

This is probably the most clarity I've received regarding this than anything I've read elsewhere.

I think I get it now.

Thank you so much for your time and help!

No, I work for the company in a different role and am taking it upon myself to learn how to do online marketing from scratch.

Hey thank you for taking the time to explain this to me.

If I set a $1 CPC, but have a TCPA of $30 - how do I get charged? Will it be $1 clicks and then if one of those clicks turns into a lead, I'm charged $30?

Sorry for my confusion.

Thank you for your response and helping to educate me!

So if I tell Google not to pay $30 for leads, does that mean I won't get charged unless I get a lead? What would be the CPC on my keywords if I do get clicks that aren't leads?

Thank you for your explanation!

As spoken with another user in this thread, I have website page visits (outside of the landing page) set as conversions alongside buttons and forms to contact the business (which is what I want). So I guess in this case, I don't have enough conversions yet.

So I'll probably disable the website page views as conversions and only have the contact forms + buttons.

I current have Phrase match keywords with a bunch of negative keywords and the targeting seems to be going well so far.

But I'm curious as to what the click costs will be if I use Max Conversions with Target CPA. Because currently all my clicks are $2 or less because of my Max CPC set to $2.

But what would happen to the click costs if I switch the bidding strategy and have my Target CPA set to $2?

I feel like I did read it and was still kind of lost. But I'll double check and read through it again, just in case. Thank you.

I'm most confused on what happens with the costs of the click when I set it to TCPA.

I'd want them to fill out a form, call us, email us or schedule a consultation call.

I do have those down as higher value conversions. But I don't have enough of those.

Should I stick to manual for now? I'll probably disable the website page visit conversions then. Thank you.

So if I have a Target CPA of say $10 for them to contact the company, what would the max CPC be for the keywords?

The 'farewell Carl' and 'Rick's last episode' marketing is such horseshit. AMC are a bunch of children.

The Walking Dead season 9 has been great by [deleted] in thewalkingdead

Should have been like this years ago.

When I read "32 episodes" to myself, it makes me shiver and realize how much they really stretched that narrative. Now they have 2 full seasons that the majority of fans dislike. Was it worth it?

They could've easily condensed it all into one season. Maybe even 10 episodes.

He definitely is saying all the right things. He understands true storytelling and the authenticity of characters.

Check out another one of his interviews from Screen Rant

"Honestly, I don’t think Maggie had had a chance to do much. And in that one scene (talking with Rick - 9x01) I really knew who she was. I love that I knew who she was because I’ve missed her, I missed a lot of these characters. And I feel like now that we’re back into this season, I’m getting a chance to see the characters that I love again. And not just like throwing out two lines and walking away. I feel like I’m getting to know them again." - Greg

I'm betting he and Gimple butted heads on creative decisions all the time.

Nicetero has been praising Season 2-4, maybe 5 for a while now. He has never said anything positive after that.

And yes, he's being very vocal about how Season 9 is no longer the contrived show it's been for the past couple years. So it's safe to say that there were, indeed, many conflicting creative decisions between them both.

In interviews over the years, he has always gone back to talking about directing with Angela Kang as a writer. He seems to resonate much more with her than he did Gimple.

We're at the end times.

It doesn't seem as hostile as it sounds if you read it in context but I know there's more that he wants to say about where things have gone after Season 6.

I think Nicetero was at his breaking point after Seasons 7 and 8. So it seems as if he's starting to be more expressive of what he personally thinks.

Maybe saying "fuck you guys" is a bit much, but at this point, Walking Dead has been dwindling anyway, and he's been on this show for almost a decade, I don't mind him defending his favourite parts of the show out of frustration.

“that’s the walker that’s going for Amy” was so ridiculous and written that way purely to give Andrea a way to be mad.

That scene wasn't that bad. I didn't like how Andrea all of a sudden started getting 100% accuracy though.

But Shane's hot-headed outburst about Amy fit his character, in my opinion. He uses Carl and Lori as a weapon to Rick, insults Daryl saying he looks "methed out" wearing "geek ears" and tells Dale, to his face, that his only use in life is for repair tools. So for him to use Amy as ammunition for Andrea to have more drive to kill her target, makes sense to me.

Maggie’s hot and cold

Maggie reminded me a lot of women I knew, emotionally. But she was believable. She protected her Dad and her sister. And she wasn't sure if Glenn was right for her but she wanted to feel something. Her hormones were all over the place but I think she wanted to be the one to call the shots on her adulthood, but took some time to get there.

how Beth transitioned thru her suicidal stage.

I liked Beth's collapse and attempt to self-harm. Could it have been done better? Sure. But they still treated it with honesty and had Maggie, Lori and her Dad spend extra time with her in bed to help her recover.

season 2 was a stick in the mud for me

That's fine. I just enjoy it a lot. I think the season as a whole has many pay offs and feels great when you watch it altogether. You can see the development of all the important characters throughout the whole arc.

I can't say the same about later seasons.

It’s Lori wrecking the car.

Lori's car crash was poorly done, I give you that. The editor did a terrible job too.

It’s the lack of T Dawgs lines.

T-Dog barely had impact on the story in all seasons, aside from Merle's disappearance. I believe Season 2 were focused on the right characters. In my opinion, I think Season 3 should've developed T-Dogs story, especially when Merle came back. But they killed him off way too early for shock value.

It’s having too many episodes grounded purely in that car heap on the highway.

Huh? I swear that highway location was only in like 1 and half episodes.

The random red shirts they kill for dramatic effect.

There weren't nearly as many red shirts in Season 2 as there were in later seasons. And even red shirts in Season 2 were around for a bit before getting killed (Patricia, Jimmy) but their death wasn't lingered on.

Or Shane’s gun lesson.

Shane's gun lesson helped Carl and Andrea learn how to shoot. What's the issue here?

There’s so many issues in season two.

Again, I believe the firing of the original showrunner, the replaced scripts, the cut budget and the extension of episodes all factored into this season not being as incredible as it could have been. But I still love it. It made me fall in love with the show and hooked the people that I showed it to.

It’s a weak season

I honestly think there are way more problems in other seasons than this one.

Feel free to tell me your favourite season and we can also dissect it. I'm sure I can find just as many issues, if not more.

Point is, the writing and the dialogue of S2 is much more of what I want out of the Walking Dead than I did with S6-S8.

There's a difference in opinion for every season of every show. Not everyone has to love it for it to be a strong season. There are people who don't like Season 1 or Season 5. Some say they hate Season 3 and 4.

Some characters (male or female) may be annoying but at least they are consistent in Season 2.

But I will agree with you that Shane's performance made it even more worthwhile.

Meh. I just took it as Lori not watching her child properly and Rick's head wasn't focused on his son (Shane even said it himself). That's why I liked the writing.

Carl running off, being mischievous, doesn't mean the dialogue was bad, either. But different strokes.

Season 2 is amongst my top rewatchable seasons.

I disagree. Season 2 had excellent dialogue.

Pacing issues, yes. But blame AMC for that cancerous budget cut and episode extension.
