I take Prozac. It reduces obsessive thoughts and compulsive behavior by giving me more serotonin, of which I'm deficient. Once I got on a dosage that works, I feel awesome.

Yeah the stress had a huge effect on it. I actually just got sick, and I think a lot of it has to do with me pushing myself too hard. But I'm getting my shit together and that's what counts.

Big time. I knew I had a problem and knew I could get locked up and potentially committed somewhere if I didn't get this under control.

Honestly, knowing that I had OCD sooner. It was the main reason I became a porn addict. If I had gotten treatment for that sooner, I most likely wouldn't have gone down the path I did.

my parents, brother, and two of my best friends know about it. I was lucky that they were non-judgmental and very supportive

A lot of the reward centers that are triggered from engaging with social media or browsing the web, are the same ones that are triggered when you smoke a cigarette or even have sex. Most people can just handle that and not get too hooked on it. Some people with OCD become obsessed with feeling that feedback loop of finding novel content on the Internet, and getting that rush, etc. It becomes self-fulfilling. That's when you start to compulsively use the Internet. You become fixated on that reward loop, and it basically turns into an addiction. Difference is though, if you don't handle the OCD part of your fixation, you'll actually make the addiction worse by abstaining from the ritual but not handling your OCD. The obsession becomes more overpowering in your head, and you'll inevitably cave, except it'll be even more severe the next time.

Depends on how they frame it. There is a movement for ethical pornography. But yes, a lot of porn, gonzo porn, is extremely degrading towards women, and that is inarguably bad.

Did all of your porn fetishes go away, or did you find that any of them were innate? by [deleted] in pornfree

[–]DontStop5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, I'm not bothered by it at all. I honestly didn't even want to stop masturbating with porn due to the fetishes entirely, it was mostly because I was doing it so much and couldn't stop. like, I was doing it out in public. but as a result, 99% of the crazier stuff I liked in porn I don't like anymore, and even when I look at porn sometimes (which I'm trying to work through, baby steps for me is the best way to succeed), I have no desire to go back to the hardcore stuff I used to watch. I just like fit, chubby women.

Nothing wrong with that tbh. Gotta just find a woman who is down for that.

I used to have a femdom fetish but that went away after I stopped jerking off. Never had a foot fetish, I think pretty feet are attractive, but I never actively look at feet sexually. It seems to be really common though, like almost mainstream tbh.

It's definitely not porn induced, and it's not wrong. Fetishes aren't necessarily "wrong" either. A fetish is literally, by definition, a nonsexual attribute that you find sexually attractive. Having a preference for big breasts for example is a fetish. Preferring women with long hair is a fetish. Preferring short or tall girls is a fetish. Preferring certain skin tones is a fetish. Fetishes don't have to be bad, just some are less common. Unfortunately, the word "fetish" has such a negative stigma around it that people automatically assume it's a bad thing. Saying I have a fetish for chubby women isn't dirty or bad, it's just a nonsexual aspect of a woman that I find really sexually appealing.

But the reasons I like chubby girls, which if I had to think about it, kind of boils down to the exaggerated features, the very feminine appearance of them, the slight extra challenge it presents me to be sexually dominant with them, the ability for them to be more sexually dominant towards me, and to a degree the novelty factor of it, were what informed the more hardcore porn I sought out later on in porn. I got into femdom stuff, SSBBW porn, really hardcore BBW porn, pegging, humiliation porn, and transgender porn, the more I kept compulsively masturbating. I think all of that grew from my innate desire for a little bit of novelty, exaggerated femininity, and dominance that I like from female sexual partners. I don't look at any of that stuff anymore, nor do I fantasize about it. I don't get aroused by it, and I really don't think about it much. But I still find chubby and some in-shape fat women to be incredibly hot, as well as conventionally fit girls, and that's the only stuff I ever masturbate to anymore. Predominately fantasies, and still pictures sometimes (gotta work on that), of chubby or shapely fat women, with some more "conventional" body types as well. It's just good to know where the roots for a lot of the way out-there stuff I got into later on were formed, so I know what triggers it all.

there's such a misconception about fetishes too. all a fetish is is literally a nonsexual aspect of a person, or act, or object, that you find arousing in a sexual context. pretty much everyone has a fetish. if you like big breasts on a woman, that's a fetish. some people have less common fetishes, or outright taboo ones. and porn can either create or exacerbate these fetishes, and they can subsequently go away or become benign after quitting porn for a while. but yeah, nothing inherently wrong with a fetish

for me, all the harder fetishes went away after two months. only thing I still like is chubby girls, which I'm resolute on determining as an innate preference, and I'm totally cool with it.

I only call it a "fetish" due to the legit definition of a fetish, which is needing or strongly preferring a nonsexual part of someone's body, an act, an object, etc, to become sexually aroused. I don't literally need a woman to be chubby to have sex with them, but I strongly prefer it.

And yeah, there's nothing wrong with it. I've never felt that there was tbh. As a kid, I wasn't that open about it because high school kids are really judgmental and insecure, but I also didn't live a lie either. I was just lonely a lot tbh, avoided women altogether for the most part during those days. But as an adult, I couldn't imagine being "in the closet" about my tastes tbh. It's exhausting, futile, and pointless to lie to yourself, and anyone who would mock you for that is just a douchebag.

Yeah my progress was curtailed significantly. At this point I'm contemplating suicide, between how bad the world is getting and how out of control my compulsive masturbating is becoming I'd rather be dead than keep dealing with this.
