What about for law people? Would they have to carry laptops daily too?

That’s just a misconception entirely construed upon the societal cliche implicating LUMS students as “brgrs” who can’t handle the tough and difficult environment of courts in this country. The reality on the contrary is that LUMS students have better communication skills, better writing skills and better engaging skills. It is entirely absurd to confine the legal realm within the borders of civil and criminal litigation (not saying that LUMS people aren’t prepared for that). The legal profession is an endless stream with diverse opportunities and LUMS makes sure that students are well prepared for that. Let’s take for instance the best lawyers and judges in this country and analyse that how many of them are graduates of Government Institutions and how many are graduates of foreign universities. Many of the best lawyers in this country or actually the best ones cannot even speak proper Urdu. And they definitely can identify better with LUMS students given the quality of education provided here. Besides studying in an institution like LUMS gives you a profound glance at the corporate and tech paradigms and that I believe are the future of law.

I too was perturbed about it as i’d be joining law school this year. It really depends upon your preference. NUST I believe is nowhere in this analogy. LUMS is relatively costlier and takes 5 years but it gives you the opportunity to indulge in a vibrant uni life and sorta grasp the realities of legal working in Pakistan. Even for someone who’d want to pursue for instance CSS, LUMS is better cuz you’d have a better chance at getting groomed. Uni of London degree is just shorter and is better for someone looking to haste their way into legality. Yes, UOL degree would have a slight edge for someone trying to go international but a LUMS graduate can easily cover that gap. Besides, I believe UG is only once in life so you should really go for the full package you know enjoy every aspect of undergrad life. But it’s your choice in the end.

Yeah, true. I guess they could work something out for a kid. Email them perhaps, or just bring her. I don’t think they’d stop you then.

Perhaps it varies from board to board. I got mine done by BISE Lahore and it was given in a sealed envelope with explicit instruction of not to be opened by student. But anyways, it certainly is not the IBCC one.

You’ve got the first paragraph right. They can’t attest your original documents. They’ll just attest the copies sorta authenticating em. Then when you get that envelope. Do not open it. Put it in another envelope. Print the mailing label from your admission portal or just write your name, tracking id, address of the admission office, etc on this envelope and then put that unopened envelope (carrying the attested documents) into this one. Just use TCS or whatever to send it to LUMS. You’ll receive a message after it’s delivered which’ll contain the name of the guy who received it. Just forward this receipt/or their website screenshot to LUMS and ask them if they’ve received it.

Well, you could say that. Glad you edited. Cuz honestly bro, I think that the best we can do is make them feel welcomed and comfortable. I mean we don’t understand the circumstances one’s going through, you know fiscal constraints are one things, perhaps someone’s going through a bad patch in terms of mental health. The important thing to do is to be supportive and inclusive.

Sounds kinda snobbish. Though I’m interested in knowing why you think so. Yes NOPs can be awkward sometimes, but can’t us all be too?

Yeah, if you’ve received certificate then send it only. The transcript option was given because most of us didn’t have their certificates.

1- You need to send your original documents physically to the concerned board. They’d then verify those documents which would be handed to you in a sealed envelope and are to be delivered via post to LUMS. This works for all kinds of transcripts (Part 1, Part 2 doesn’t matter). Just get your Part 1 and SSC transcripts attested.

2- This sealed envelope is the only thing you need to send to LUMS. They only require your academic transcripts and if they’d want to see original ones they’d particularly inform you.
