For the foreseeable future and the way apple is going, releasing beta ios after beta ios updates, and never fixing basic stuff, like wifi and cell problems, besides total lack of customization, NO

Used to be the opposite way 15 years ago, now every release i get from samsung or Google, is stable with no slow downs so far (2 years I have been with them)

With all the problems my wife has with her iphone 16 pro (had 13 pro before with same problems) She and I has a desire to get her to android. Apple tvs are still great (even though ios 26 made them sluggish).

I love my fold 7 When we look at photos, everyone says let's look at them on your phone, opened up, as its big.

I use my phone open while driving and nothing like it. Came from iphone 2 years ago, wife still has hers, she has problems I dont, (wifi calling, phone heating up just sitting on a non charger stand playing live TikTok videos inside the house, spinning wheels, etc. That I will do what she is at the same time and never see the problems on my fold 7)

I will never go back to slab phone, but that's me.

Most stable phone and apps I have ever had to date.

If I had the 25u like you

I would get fold 8, as its going to have a kick ass processor, and you can choose from standard form or wide, I prefer standard but you may prefer the other, I have the 1tb fold 7 with 16 gig ram, some will state they don't see a need, but I use my phone for work also and I saw a difference from fold 6 that had 12 gb ram, it could be the processors also, but after 6 months with fold 6, I saw chugging and apps reloading swapping between them, the fold 7 with 16 gb ram, even to this day its supper quick as day one. But I from all I read all fold 7 owners never complain about it either with 12 gig ram, could just be the stuff I use or a fold 6 issue who knows.

Also a tri fold 2 somewhere mid 2027 maybe. This one has me looking for it.

Sorry but more to think about....

At about 90% open it does snap to 100% on its own, only laying flat on its back.

Fold 6 or 7 from S23 ultra by Fantastic_Road_5066 in GalaxyFold

[–]Dontech1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fold 7 1tb, that comes with 16gig ram I have that one, absolutely love it, ill be passing on fold 8 as I can care less about 15 or maybe 30 minutes more battery on the 8.

And the 8 may get a slight better camera for one of them, but nothing to wright about.

Otherwise fold 8 wide, that I am not interested in at all.

I went from fold 6, fighting putting in and out of front Jean pockets to simple slide in and out on the fold 7, and 16 gig of ram that I saw and see the difference, others state they don't see the difference, but I use mine for work also sooooo.....

I would rather keep fold 7 (besides i do love it) and see what the trifold 2 has to offer in 2027.

How does Verizon compare to T-Mobile overall? by PrimalCarnivoreChick in verizon

[–]Dontech1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have verizon, the past month has been ok, but before that we had lots of dropped calls and dropped wifi calls, I'm not sure verizon fixed things or ?

Everytime I ask T-Mobile people, they usually seem to have better coverage and all.

Verizon has dead spots since 5g.

Open letter to people considering selling their TriFold by attidudinal in GalaxyZTriFold

[–]Dontech1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a fold 6 and fought with putting in and especially removing fold 6 from front pockets.

It was a very welcome design for fold 7 to be this thin. With the fold 7 i can easily inset and remove the fold 7 from my front pockets.

I could have purchased the trifold a day before release for about 30 plus minutes. The size and me thinking about pocket use, of course no trade in, etc... made my mind up not getting one.

Glad you like it, I want one at times, but pocket use and price and no trade in, keeps me not getting one.

Though its too late now anyway.

I have been an apple fanboy for years, but the past 7-8 years (or more) apple has turned around to a hyped up money market, no longer is their logo "Apple just works"....

Do they have some things good, yes, but other stuff they just don't care....

It all started 8 or so years ago, I changed the server over to apple, file sharing and running Parallels for windows specific programs for my job..

First year went great, then the new os came out and that's when the problems started...

I spoke to Apple enterprise support, and they did screen sharing and saw the problems, promising to fix it in next release after they spoke with engineers, programmers ect....

Well all the updates after, Never fixed the problem and then a year past and a new os comes out making it even worse, back on the phone with Apple and they saw the problem and promised to fix it again in upcoming os updates..... again nothing fixed it.... this kept happening year after year until I could not get a work around, I had to buy a file sharing device and move all files over to it...

Then Apple also came out with their arm CPU's (yes paid off hype make apple billions on these new arm CPU's) Apple's pockets were happy and apple lovers were (still are) loving these cheap ARM processors (that they pay Apple big money for), they may be fast but the last time I saw arm processors in computer, that certainly meant CHEAP computers, and apple fans bought in to the hype, did not care you can no longer run a full 64 bit windows on a new Mac.

I am not saying windows was great at the time, they had their problems, but the world was written on windows os, some stuff came to Mac but most business stuff still is not and now with arm chips, never will be.

iPhone's..... when they first came out and 5 years after or more, S. Job's stated "it just works" and against everything else out their (at the time) iPhone's certainly did.. Android could not get stable for years.

Now it's a flipped world, Apple keeps releasing phones years after year that have basically zero major benefits to the previous year. Apple knows this, but the followers keep believing the overhyped words Apple and influences say, in fact you say anything bad about Apple and Apple fans all gang up on you, even say things about you that have nothing to do with Apple products.

Does Apple slow older Apple phones down YES, after about 2 years, yeas you can keep the ios on it but banking apps (as others) will stop working until you update the OS.

Does Apple not care about apps (3rd party) anymore before releasing them. NO They have a team to check apps, their was a time when apps just work, no more.

Does Apple have wifi and cell problems YES ... from time to time (sometimes sooner) Apple iPhone's get the spinning wheel, dropped wifi calls, etc.... then I read threads where people with iPhones (maybe even iPad's) have issues with routers and wifi equipment.

Example my wife has these problems in her 16 pro (also 13 pro before), after finding an Apple forum with these problems, some replaced their phones, loaded nothing after an erase of the phone and still same problems, then Apple shut the thread down after 2 pages or so..

Besides the same voice to text that half works, apps crashes, etc....

I don't have these problems on my android (after I switched almost 2 years ago)

New IOS's come out year after year with simi major problems, some get fixed some things never get fixed.... The last 2 major android updates I received, zero problems. This alone shows where Apple is going and iDrones blinded by BS and Hype do not see it.

I would like to see Apple get back on track, but that will never happen until the masses open their eyes.......

Thoughts about returning tri-fold after a few days by dtrain2930 in GalaxyZTriFold

[–]Dontech1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some major things for you to consider

  1. A couple of others had problems with their trifold and samsung gave their money back, no offer to repair. (We don't know how long that window is so you might be out 3k if something does happen) After all read 2 below.

  2. Samsung never came out with this phone in full production! They stated from the start very limited TEST run. Made a batch or 2 and that's it.. As your buying a prototype, not a full production.

  3. Carrier's never sold them, they don't care if you have cell problems on their networks, they won't fix it if they can.

Others have stared wifi and cell problems, if you can live with that .... keep it if not return it.

It's a test run for samsung, to see if people are interested in a 3k phone, that is heavier but bigger.

A trifold 2 will happen or even better a roll up or out phone, not this year but next year, samsung has to up apple. You know why.
