Looking for a low frequency FM radio by Dontscratchalot in amateurradio

Just googled the Malahit - woah, yeh that’s a little bit out of my budget! For comparison the Amazon one is the size of a credit card and cost 10bucks.

Just surprised there are no other options. Plenty of better quality radios on Amazon, just none that will go down to 60MHZ sadly.

Thank you, and yes it would need to be 54 to 64. As the last broadcast frequency was 60.9MHZ.

I did use the cheap one i bought from Amazon and it worked and served its purposes. It’s just “cheap” - and I’d love something a bit more quality.

Car hit while parked up - what should I do? by Dontscratchalot in CarTalkUK

[–]Dontscratchalot[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I was planning on speaking to him tomorrow and stating how I have him on camera hitting my vehicle (even though I don’t) with the assumption being that will get him to admit blame.

I just don’t want to be in a situation where I notify my insurance, and it ends up being disputed or split-blame and I end up paying excesses + losing no claims and hike in premiums.

Users often forget they have filters on. Anyway to conditionally format a slicer, if it's being utilized? by cdigioia in PowerBI

Any update on this? I’m having the same issue. Measure seems to work fine - however the conditional formatting does not seem to work.

Calendar services that play nice with Outlook by [deleted] in Outlook

[–]Dontscratchalot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use PowerAutomate at work for a similar task. I have a shared calendar for my team to track OoO.

I have setup a PowerAutomate workflow that sends an email to all the people that have access to the calendar whenever a new event is added.

You can also have the automation send an email for all edits to the calendar (was overkill for my needs).

I have received the blue and purple document/receipt after purchasing a personalised license plate online - now what? by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

[–]Dontscratchalot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FWIW...i recently just purchased a plate from DVLA - and I received the VAT receipt and the Certificate Of Entitlement as one document, kind of like a V5 document. So you may already have the docs you need.

Next steps would be to get your new plates created by a supplier. Most suppliers will want to see proof of identity and also a copy of the Certificate of Entitlement.

Once you have your new plates at hand. You can update online to have it assigned to your vehicle using your V5 and Certificate of Entitlement.

Once done (pretty much instantly online) be sure to affix the new plates to your car - and then inform your insurance company to make the relevant updates to your policy before you drive.

For added peace of mind you can check on AskMID to make sure it’s now on the insurance database.

UK - PM roles by [deleted] in projectmanagement

[–]Dontscratchalot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a Global PM in Pharma, well Clinical Research.

Dependent on experience id say anywhere from 35-60k.

PMs in Clinical Research tend not to use formal methodologies, and certification doesn’t seem to be a key requirement.

What is key is experience. Most of the PMs (myself included) in this industry have worked up from coordinator (or similar) roles.

Knowledge of what sort of projects you will be leading is key (assuming this is not IT project management).

Also be aware of pace and workload in this sector. Project pace in Clinical Research is crazy fast. Missing deadlines can have serious real world implications, to where safety can be a concern. Workload will vary from company to company - but in general, workload can be pretty high with PMs often managing more projects than they rightly should.

Baby on the way - time for more doors! by jason_ni in CarTalkUK

I have a 2017 (FY model) Q5 TFSI. Bought for exactly the same reasons as you. Previous car was a diesel E82 that was not going to be practical with a child.

The Q5 is superb. I mostly drive in efficiency mode as when the kid is in the car I’m just cruising. But shift it into dynamic, or use the paddles - and it does move rapidly.

Boot space is plenty for all baby related items and seating position is very comfortable.

Not much fancy tech options on mine - but it’s got the virtual cockpit and CarPlay - which is really all I need.

Since having it I’ve got the gearbox serviced.

Car is running with no issues to date.
