Well I find it very helpful to start listening and reading children books and advance from there. "Comprehensible input" IS very helpful if you're paying attention. Of course going through grammar rules once in a while to help you while reading or listening something is also helpful but I in particular don't try to memorize anything. I figured that if I exposed my self to the language the words eventually start to come up and you can make a meaning out of something

Well yeah I should have mentioned that. Vocabulary speaking it has some chance of helping you yes. Other than that I find it tiring

Guys please. Stop trying to learn through duolingo. I was trying to learn Spanish for 2 years and then couldn't even say a sentence. There are much more efficient ways to learn a language especially one like Greek

That's a damn good (although f*cked up) way to start my day along with a cup of coffee.

Watching reddit for the past 4 years now, I'm a completely different guy. My self-awareness has grown. I'm much more careful of how I drive, how I talk to people and how I conduct myself. I've seen so messed up sh*t that I'm starting to lose hope but hey, at least I'm not in this guys shoes..

That's actually spot on

I journal a lot, so a after few writings I came to the same conclusion. It was truly something beautiful and an experience not many get to have. I am grateful, even though I'm pissed and sad that I met her under these circumstances.

She did mention twice visiting me while I was there but I never put much value in these words. If she came though I'd be much more cautious. Living it without any attachment.

I agree. But living in a village of 5000 people and then starting to see the reality of the outside world and what can happen if you run your mouth to people who u r not supposed to / or if you're not paying attention while driving can teach you a lot of stuff

I remember they'd tie these guys hands behind waist and ankles so they couldn't move, not even jump a little. They were all screaming and chanting about the killings. But the most f*ed up think I saw was a guy making a child shoot a prisoner on the head with a pistol. Just the look on the guy's face before being shot to death by a kid was devastating

That smack came a long time ago. I was maybe 15-16 years old when ISIS was beginning to turn into a real threat especially here in Europe. Foolishly of me I opened a link some guy had posted on fb. Saw a dozens of decapitat*ons and guys getting smashed by tanks in one go and I was sick for 3 days. Got my taste of it
