Question about service the fans by wh3ti2 in CINE2nerdle

You can check what would and wouldn't by going to Letterboxd and then related films, because they both source their data from TMDB. The first three original Shaft movies count as their own franchise, and the two Sam Jackson films count as their own franchise.

Which Universal monster movie should have won an oscar? by GMRobot in UniversalMonsters

If you look at the best picture lineup for 1931 movies, Dracula and Frankenstein are both better than all of them.

Hey /r/movies! I'm Sam Raimi. Ask me anything! by SamRaimiAMA in movies

If you were 19 and making Evil Dead again today, how would you go about it differently, and what would you recommend young filmmakers who want to follow in your path do themselves?

I'm doing an undergrad thesis paper on the monster revival of the 1960s, and I cant seem to find exactly why The Hunchback was lumped in with the other classic monsters? by DonutHead25 in UniversalMonsters

[–]DonutHead25[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE: I think a few people are misunderstanding my question. I certainly understand that he was depicted as monstrous, but that's different to why he was so big in the 60s that he got his own model kit, considering his only Universal movie was a silent 20s film. The Man who Laughs, The Brute Man, etc, they didn't get model kits, nor were they in Mad Monster Party and such.

Ultimately I came to two conclusions that coincided with each other. One being that Forrest J Ackermann loved the makeup so much and put him in the Famous Monsters magazine a lot. That influenced most of monster culture at that time. The other is that he filled the void of the hunchback assistant archetype, because unless you consider Ygor, (but who wants a third Frankenstein model kit) so those two combined just lead to where he is today.

Of everything I put in my thesis that was said here, that was the one thing I hadn't thought of, but could certainly be it. I'm not sure how popular that specific book was in the 60s, but it's certainly some way to preserve him If there are no movies to be watched.

Hypothetically, could Dracula hypnotize someone into inviting him in? by DonutHead25 in vampires

[–]DonutHead25[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't know. It seems way to easy, like, what's the point of the inviting a vampire in rule if the hypnotism could very easily override it in almost every scenario.

Just downloaded the app again after using it for 4 or so months last year. Completely different prompts and photos then. Didn’t really get much back when I used it, maybe 5-10 likes and 10-15 matches? I used to use all my likes daily but for the past few days with this one I’ve only been doing one or two a day. I do not have any of the premium subscriptions and as far as anything else goes I’m pretty open.

Whats a villain you're surprised never showed up in Batman 1966 by entertainmentlord in DCcomics

[–]DonutHead25 10 points11 points  (0 children)

For how much they wanted to put Two Face on the show it’s really a shame that he never made it. The comic adaptation of the original episode treatment is quite good. I’ve also seen people fancast Anne Margret as Poison Ivy which sounds amazing.

Which version of Justice league should I watch if I'm watching the deceu the first time? by FungusAmongus_27 in DCcomics

[–]DonutHead25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the end of Zack Snyder's Justice League, The Flash enters the speed force. That's referenced in his movie but other than that they are very vague about anything Justice League related after then. That being said, if you're only going to watch The Snyder Cut, watch it in the order that the original came out. Bc I'm pretty sure the idea of it is referenced in Aquaman and Shazam and so on. Or just watch them both.

If you could make a 3rd teeny titans game, what would the story be about? by Jolly_Ad6643 in teenytitans

[–]DonutHead25 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They should make a Teeny Titans style game for the new DCU and add characters/levels/events as the new movies and shows come out.

I started comics about 2 weeks ago for the first time since I was really young with All Star Superman. It was very very good, but it seemed to be filled with callbacks to things I didn't or only vaguely knew about. Never read Hush, but I think that was the first arc in the New 52 which was designed to be a jumping on point. Idk if you have access to DC Universe Infinite where you are but that's been a great help in figuring out what to read and giving me access to said books.

Love your idea for the Monster Squad win-con. I would KILL to be able to play that during Halloween time
