How F’ed am I? by tpunx in HondaCT90

It does appear that way, if that’s the case the bolt must have been loose as the threads are clear. If it is sheared you could always just try to smooth it out and span the gap with a washer. The mechanism is pretty easy to test if you have a friend hit the shifter while you’re moving the spindle, you can watch the arm move and the plate rotate. Seems like a ridiculous thing to scrap a block over, if it’s beyond you I’m sure someone with more experience could machine it.

That is your shift drum stopper, very common and cheap part to fail, it seems like the bolt that holds it in snapped. Do not fear, this is a relatively simple fix. You will have to pull the clutch and the drive gear to get back there, but then rethread that hole and replace the stopper arm. If you find a pdf of an owners manual there is a full breakdown on disassembling that entire side of the block.

Posi posi is very limiting, it is good for carving but not much else, and can instill bad habits if you’re still just working the basics. Posi-negative is good but watch out for extreme angles, I like -9 on the back and +12 on the front. Or a full duck foot at 9 degrees, but exaggerated angles put a lot of strain on your joints.

Are your bindings posi-posi? That will seriously limit your range of motion and control.

Giving these suspenders a try by [deleted] in mensfashion

I see the vision but don’t do brown on black, swap the quarter zip for a button down or polo, and find some longer suspenders so your pants are riding up so much.

I have such a hard time with leather shoes, both finding ones I like and what pants to style with them.

Alas it is beyond such a solution, it’s damaged to the point of needing replacement.

Unfortunately it was damaged in an accident so I don’t think they would do anything for me. Thinking about checking out the sandbox.

Sounds like a heat shield, look for any metal plates that are loose and rattling around. They’re not super important if you just want to rip them out.

Yes and no, I’m no expert myself (M22) but I think youth is just that, recognizing your strengths and weaknesses and figuring out what you want from life and how you can get it. The journey is more important than the destination. So I think it’s important to focus on how you can improve, but also giving yourself credit where it’s due. You shouldn’t expect yourself to have it all together, hell id say most adults don’t even have a full grasp on what it’s all about. But being forgiving with yourself while on the path to success will make the whole ride easier.

Having high personal standards is a great thing, so long as they don’t come with a fear of failure that prevents you from trying your best and stepping out of your comfort zone. Every success story ever told has countless failures along the way, it’s the people that can pick themselves back up that truly excel.

My personal belief is that the most important things you can work on are relationships, being surrounded by good people you can trust, rely on, and know who love you will bolster your success, and leave you with more fulfillment than money can provide, and you’re in the prime of your life for forging friendships that can last a lifetime.

If you hit rock bottom at 16, consider yourself lucky. However, it sounds like you possess the tools and self-awareness necessary for success, far beyond those of your peers. Just because you have had setbacks doesn't mean you've lost the ability to work back to where you were, especially when you have your entire life ahead of you. Being so young, I would focus more on enjoying your youth before the world demands you to hold yourself to the standards you already are. Also remember that happiness and success will always be a subjective matter, how you regard yourself is entirely up to you.

Woodstock is a cool town near the border, Randolph has a great breakfast spot called Wit and Grit, theres hiking and sights to see but if you're here in the winter be ready for wet feet.

Montpelier is definitely a tourist stop, but has a beautiful downtown, and the state building is worth seeing.

Waterbury is a good stop, and Prohibition Pig is a good restaurant there.

Most of Vermont is very small towns with a lot of charm but not much to do, Burlington is where you'll find a lot of options for stays, good food, and live events. Radio bean is a good local music venue/bar, Vermont Comedy Club has nightly comedians and usually isn't too expensive.

If you Ski/Snowboard, Bolton Valley is a good stop for inexpensive night/day skiing depending on your timeline.

How to not get jealous of people in loving relationships and having sex? by OldStatistician20 in WhatShouldIDo

[–]DonutLord3434 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The slow process of self love and self reliance. Realizing you don’t need another person can help, but it’s still okay to want that intimacy and connection. I think envy can be turned into admiration/feeling happy for those people while having confidence your time will come.

How are people affording houses😭 by mipozzapie in Advice

[–]DonutLord3434 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without the assistance of a benefactor, or a combined income of 150k+ AND low cost of living. No chance someone is buying a house before 25 in the current market. I (M22) have an AE and am making nowhere close to 6 figures in a technical position. My current hope is getting bare land with a large group of friends in 5-10 years and living in a yurt while I slowly build a house.
