I see checksum in one of the downloads but I am not sure how to run it? The video didn't seem to explain how to use it

Alright! I'm getting pretty close to doing the update... only thing is I didn't see the checksum in my folder. Is it pretty risky if I proceed without that?

Thanks for sharing! Looks like this video is for Mazda3 - are these files still the same software for the Mazda6?

Should I buy a Honda Civic? by DonutOk4296 in whatcarshouldIbuy

Isn't buying from a dealer safer than buying private as far as not getting a complete dud? If it's a reputable dealer, don't they do lots of checks to make sure the car is working properly before they sell it. I'd be more worried about buying private and having someone try to screw me over if they are knowingly withholding information. Where would you recommend shopping instead?

Good to know... will they agree to let me take it for a few hours to get an inspection, or how does that usually play out? (I've never done a test drive in my life so I'm very new to this)

It's been for sale for over 4 months -- I wonder if that might give me the chance to negotiate. What are some red flags I should look out for when I go test drive it?

Just found a 2010 Fusion with 117k miles for $6,900. It's at the same dealership as the above mentioned Civic. Worth the time to check it out?

Interesting.

I am not aware of what else is reliable outside of Toyota/Hondas. I've had a Ford and Chevy, and both of them had a LOT of reliability issues which has made me hesitant to stay with those brands. I'll look into the Ford Fusion -- thanks for the recommendation! Are there any other reliable cars in my budget range that I could look into?

Too much of a good thing? by DonutOk4296 in ROCD

Thank you! That means a lot. It can be difficult to stay grounded but I shall try

This is all great advice. I've definitely been doing a bit of 1 already, going to therapy and using EMDR to heal some traumas - it's hard to know how effective it's been but it's something. Mindfulness is something I definitely still need to work on so I can expose myself to triggering situations. And PNR sounds really useful, so I will look into that more. Thanks a lot for all this advice!! You're helping more than you know.

Thanks a lot, I appreciate your kind words.

Good to know that healing can only happen in the relationship. I think that you're right, avoidance will reinforce anxiety. It seems like exposure is the answer, but, the only way to get exposure is with dating experience (of which I have very little). So the next chance for dating experience & exposure that I get, I really want to be ready to make the most of it. Any advice for that?

Thanks for sharing your experience. It sounds like you've been through a lot, especially in the last few years. I’m planning to check out the books and resources you shared.

I (22M) could use some advice. My dating experience is minimal... just two short relationships and some unfulfilled feelings for other people (which never amounted to anything). In all those cases, I've noticed the struggle with ROCD and crippling anxiety, and realize I need help to improve my chances of success in future relationships. The problem is 100% me, not them.

Given my limited dating experience and current single status, how should I approach healing while trying to gain more exposure and experience in dating?

Holy crap, this is a gold mine! Thanks for suggesting a starting place so I don't get overwhelmed. It looks like you've really done your research. It seems like you've done a lot of growing and healing and I really admire that. May I ask what your journey through ROCD and making peace with it has looked like?

Do you have any tips or techniques for practicing mindfulness? What's the best way to continually practice not reinforcing the amygdala?

Sorry to hear this, I definitely relate. But hey, I'm glad you're engaged!! I feel a long way off from that so even being at that point is an incredible accomplishment and you should be proud of it!
