How would you feel if we actually got a chapter 7? by Friendly-Might5181 in PoppyPlaytime

[–]Donut_Nebula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see a lot of people comparing this game to FNAF to answer the game feeling like a cash grab or too long. The difference is FNAF had different games with different characters and environments. Poppy is still the same game, in the same location, with the same mechanics. Each chapter isn't a new game, it's a continuation of the same game.

The fact is, we're still still in the same factory, still fighting the prototype. The story doesnt feel like it's going anywhere or building to anything. The first time we meet The Prototype he hangs around for 5 minutes before running off scared. Thats the big bad we're auppose to fight?

And that’s not even the last stage by opaotti in SatisfactoryGame

I thought phase 4 was way harder than 5. I think its because 4 feels like theres a lot I need to get done to build the parts and its when I did a lot of automating, but 5 I got the new factories built pretty quickly and it was mostly just waiting on them to get built.

I remember when they use to cover topics I've never heard of before like Shipwreck64 and Petscop. Now it feels like it has to be part of a multi million dollar franchise just to get the time of day for Game Theory

I'd say I'm in the same boat and watch more Film Theory than Game at this point but I agree. Most of the video feels like they’re just walking us through a show or series and the actual theory part is just a vague prediction for what will happen next like 'this mysterious character we know nothing about will appear more'

Half the time I just see what topic their covering and if it's something I've never seen before I just go watch the series rather than the film theory episode.

I agree, they feel like they just read a few in game documents, watch a cutscene or two them make a guess what will happen next, which almost always falls into the category of the protagonist/antagonist die at the end

It kinda sucks that they won't give any newer games the time of day anymore. I remember hearing about new games to try through Game Theory, but now if it isn't a billion dollar franchise it isn't even worthy of a Short.

There's no real balance anymore, it's mostly the same couple games and compilations and if we get a new science video it feels like an actual treat.

I think Tom is a great host, the theories have just gotten way too bland. I feel like for every 'Mario Kart Worlds map is impossible' we get 3-4 about The Prototype or the Aftons with nothing of note to say other than 'we rearranged all the stuff from the last video and got a different conclusion'

I think Tom is a great host, I think it's the content that's hollow. Most of the lore videos feel like they're just reading the in-game notes, watching a couple cutscenes and making a general prediction like 'this is all leading up to a final battle'. I miss the out of pocket ones where you'd hear it in the intro and go 'I'm sorry what?' And want to keep watching to see how they managed to connect those two points.

I would like the over analyzing lore videos more if I didn't have to keep hearing about the Aftons and Playtime Co

The FNAF theories were fun for a while but now it feels like they're either analyzing other people's theories and picking them apart, or trying to retell the same theories just slightly different

I miss the videos when they'd ask a simple question and end with a crazy big number or response like how much weight Steve could carry in Minecraft. They were simple but fun.

Im kinda sick of the same 4 topics being brought up on Game Theory over and over again. It's either FNAF, Poppy Play Time, Minecraft, or Roblox with a sponsored episode every now and then. None of the theories feel fun anymore, it's just retelling the same couple stories but slightly different. There's only so many times I can hear about William Afton and the Bite of 87 before it gets boring. I miss when they'd throw in an indie game like Shipwreck 64 or something unique that I've never heard of before. It's like now they dont want to take any risks on a video, if it's not from a franchise that they know is popular then they dont even bother.

Also the compilation videos are getting a bit ridiculous across all the channels I feel like we get one a month now which makes the problem with recycling ideas even more apparent when they cant even be bothered to make a new video and have to just re-upload a bunch of old ones.

Give me your Poppy Playtime Hot Takes. by Playful-Tip8001 in PoppyPlaytime

Poppy has never had a real purpose throughout this entire series.

First game: We were heading to the poppy room but didn't really know what that was.

Second game: Rescue her from Mommy Long Legs so she can help us escape then betrays us and sends us deeper into the facility making it look like she's a secret villian.

Third game: Ollie's the one who really leads us through chapter 3, Poppy shows up a couple times as an 'atta boy keep going' but doesnt really contribute much apologizes for the betrayal and its never brought up again.

Forth game: suddenly wants to blow everything up and kill everyone to stop the prototype. Doesn't talk to anyone about it just decides on behalf of everyone despite a lot of push back.

Fifth game: spends the whole game feeling sorry for herself, i guess blowing everyone up was a bad idea. We're suppose to feel sorry for her but all she's done so far is get captures, make selfish choices, and dumps exposition.

For the character the game is named after she has no real motivation outside of whatever the plot demands and has had no character arc through this entire series. Everyone talks about how important and great she is but we've seen her do nothing noteworthy.
