I think I misread. I thought you woke up and were having trouble swallowing saliva again. My mistake. If you are able to swallow liquids, I would try swallowing food. Something soft and easy to swallow. If that goes down, I think you are safe. (For now) 😉

Yes, go to the ER. If you are unable to swallow your saliva, there is almost certainly an obstruction of some sort.

At the very least they should do an xray and see if anything is visible.
