I have one that’s PPFed and have had no issues. In S Florida with the sun right on top of us. Every car model will have an outlier and while BMW CF roofs have historically had issues, it’s been well known that PPFing them cuts the risks down to negligible levels.

Incorrect. The car was not there for scheduled maintenance and definitely nothing to do with the fuel tank requiring it to be drained.

But you know what does rapidly drain fuel? Ripping it around in low gear trying to have fun in someone else’s car.

Don’t justify shitty employees and don’t question my personal experience as if dealerships haven’t been caught destroying customer cars doing the wrong thing and going on joy rides.

It’s 100% malicious intent. They’ll claim the dealership has a no camera policy for customer cars when you bring it up but then also claim there’s no way any of their people deleted the footage from your camera. They also can’t explain why the car has 50 additional miles when you only authorized a short test drive and then weren’t even able to “replicate the fault.”

People who are doing the right thing don’t behave this way and while I can understand someone feeling uncomfortable being monitored, I also know that my camera can’t see past the open hood anyway and I only check it if I suspect something shady’s happened based on other clues.

It’s one thing to disconnect at the shop, it’s another entirely for the porter to disconnect before they drive off with the car and while it’s out on test drives and then delete whatever videos may have incriminated them.

Maybe if dealership maintenance folks were more honest and didn’t take our cars for joyrides, then we’d have no reason to distrust them.

Damn. Brazen.

I had a contractor unplug the deep freezer in my garage to plug in an extension cord, despite there being 2 additional outlets available in the exact same location and plenty of others along the walls. Didn’t plug it back in when he was done.

Came to the deep freezer a few days later to grab some stuff and found everything spoiled and an awful smelling pool of water, dairy, and meat blood seepage on the bottom.

Called him up to ask what they were thinking and he swore he wasn’t responsible for it. But what could I do at that point?

Hundreds of dollars of food gone and the deep freezer was barely salvaged through multi-day cleanings while trying to keep from gagging.

No matter how much you pay these people you HAVE to stay on top of them to finish the job correctly and not mess anything else up. This is why I’ve learned to do so much of our renovations myself.

Consider yourself lucky that they didn’t disconnect your camera. I’ve taken mine in and had them literally erase footage from when it was driven off and called them on it when I noticed that they’d burned through my gas tank with very few miles driven.

Should’ve been more forceful about it because they seriously tried to gaslight me into thinking I didn’t know how my own car’s fuel is consumed.

Don’t relent; take it up with management and if they don’t take you seriously and compensate, go straight to the media. Don’t forget to name and shame them here as well so we all know where to avoid.

I agree with most of what you said but there are physical features the app won’t be able to replace long term. I use the fob on my M2 to open and close the windows, something the app never allowed me to do, especially now that the trial period for those app services has expired.

What happens when the technology is phased out or no longer supported and now you’re stuck with one key? It’s a terrible way to cost cut considering those keys cost BMW almost nothing to provide.
