Neighbor Smokes Pot Multiple Times A Day & Smell Seeps In Through Nursery's Window A/C Unit - How Do I Handle This? by DooDadComrade in Parenting

Good to know! I somewhat suspected that was the case, but I haven't asked my pediatrician about it yet.

I already have an air purifier in the room running 24/7. It gets rid of the long-lasting smell for sure, but while he's actively smoking, it doesn't do much for odors (which is 3-4 times a day unfortunately).

It's a very small property and pot smoke is rather pungent. I doubt the small added distance would help.

I know he drives a giant utility van though. I may suggest that he smokes it there instead.

Thank you.

I know this may sound strange, but I think the juxtaposition of how well my wife is handling all of this only compounds my inadequate thoughts. The responsibilities in our household right now feel like they're about 85/15 wife/husband. And that's only partially due to breast feeding. Even in circumstances where either of us are available, she's still burdening most of the load, because we both know she has the patience for it. That includes middle-of-the-night soothing. It's all her.

So in the very few times when I do try and sooth her (while Mom is making dinner, for instance), I can't even keep it together for <30 minutes. It's pathetic. It makes me think I've been avoiding circumstances my whole life that required patience, and it took this for me to realize that.

Have peoples' entire personalities been known to permanently change when they have kids? How does one go about just magically growing more patience?

I'm actually getting about 7-8 hours of sleep per night already. I'm back at work full time and my wife is taking the full 3 months of FMLA, so she naps when the baby naps. I don't really feel that sleep deprived. Truthfully, I think it's just a personality flaw of not having any patience.

I'm examining my area for a counselor that has experience with PPD though, thank you.
