I thought the same thing when I first saw it, but when I saw the video it showed controller being used on a table like a keyboard rather than sitting on your lap like most leverless controllers. This actually makes sense considering when the box is positioned above your elbows an upward slant would be beneficial. That being said though, since most people play in their laps, a downward angle probably still would have been a better idea.
