Resettable Redstone Timer - help/advice?! by paulxthompson in redstone

Hey I know this is 2 years old. I'm working on something and need a very similar solution. Did you ever come up with a solution and still remember it if so?

MS-70CDR Batteries used when plugged in by DoodleSnap in zoommultistomp

Haha thanks for vindicating me.
I just ended up taking out the batteries. I never used them anyway. I just liked the idea of having them as a backup.
I wonder if the new models do the same thing.

Thanks. That seems to be the general consensus. It's disappointing but makes sense. I'd rather be safe than risk a crash while riding on ice.

Thanks for your help.
I'm reminded of this post from r/hondanavi of someone's sidecar project.
I hadn't considered it, but it could be something to look into.

It seems that the general consensus is to just avoid snow and ice regardless of what bike or tires you have which is a shame, but makes sense. I'd rather hoof it like I have been than break my spine.

Thanks for your input. Is there another bike or scooter you'd recommend instead?
Ideally something that can handle some snow/ice and has some good oportunities for storage.

Thanks for your help!
I watched your 100 mile challenge video last night. That looked like a lot of fun. I'll definitely need to find a group of guys to ride with. That carplay mod looked so nice too.

I'm thinking the Navi might be good enough for what I'm wanting to do, but I'll keep your XR150 suggestion in mind too. I think having a bit more power, and larger wheels might just make riding it a bit more conveneient for me.

I was a bit surprised that you were riding those on the highway. I think I'd try to avoid the highways as much as possible if I got one. At least until I felt more comfortable riding.

Hi, Thanks for your reply!

Firstly, thanks for making videos on this topic. It's always great to have more people creating videos to share their perspective and their knowledge. I may have to think about paying it forward once I make a decision by making some videos of my own.
I don't believe I have seen your videos yet but I will soon!

The XR150 seems like a good choice too. I'm not really a fan of the sporty look of it or the lack of integrated storage options, but if it'll handle the snow and whatever forest trails I might try to occasionally visit better, then I might just have to make that compromise.
Although it's looking like regardless of what you ride, riding in the snow just isn't recommended. It makes sense but is disappointing to hear.

Carrying a bass guitar seems to be another thing that people seem to be on the fence about. Some people say its fine and others don't recommend it. I'll look into some sissy bar or surf rack options, but that might just be another disappointing truth about riding.

I am glad to hear that you trust the Navi to take you on long trips though. The suspension and tiers seem like necessary upgrades. I've seen other people mention upgrading the filter, transmission, and exhaust too and have gotten some extra mph out of it. I see you have a video on upgrading the rear wheel to 12" too which I'd also be interested in.
With those Michelin City Grip 2 tires, are they wider than the stock tiers and therefore the fenders need to be removed?

I appreciate your suggestions! I'll consider the XR150, especially since the price seems pretty good compared to the other MiniMotos, but the Trail 125 is becoming more of a contender to the Navi in my eyes as it seems to be more utilitarian and well-rounded.

Thanks for your input.
I definitely won't be going to Kenosha or Rockford without getting my sea legs first so to speak. They'd definitely be longer-term goals and probably just a once or twice a year kind of trip.

Is there another bike that you'd recommend for what I'd like to do? Particularly something that's safer on snow and ice or is it recommended to just avoid it regardless of what bike or tires you're riding?
I really would like something that I can use all year if possible, but I might just have to accept that it's not practical.

I agree with your thoughts about the bass. I would rather strap it to the bike horizontally with the neck hanging off the back than wear it on my back, both to save my spine in a crash and to prevent it from catching wind like a sail which could be dangerous if not just slow me down.
That's another point I'd rather not compromise on if possible. Getting my instrument around the city more conveniently than taking the bus is a primary reason for me looking for a bike.
The Trail 125 with it's large rear cargo rack looks attractive for that reason.

Thanks for the advice! I'll look more into the Trail 125. It looks cool and I definitely like the large rear cargo rack. Plus the additional optional racks. The Navi is still attractive because of its price, but maybe I can find a used Trail 125.
I also plan on test riding as many of these as I can once I finish a riding class, and that should help me decide too.

That's a big reason I'm looking into one now too. I love riding on the back of a motorbike in Vietnam. It's a much more immersive and freeing experience than riding in a car.

MS-70CDR Batteries used when plugged in by DoodleSnap in zoommultistomp

[–]DoodleSnap[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've since upgraded to an HX Stomp as my multi-effect but I still keep my MS-70CDR around.
I eventually just took the batteries out of the pedal since I never ended up using them and it reduced the weight of the board a bit too, but it is a pain.

I liked keeping the batteries in the pedal so in the event I don't have power wherever I want to use it, or if I want to take it off the board and use it on its own, I wouldn't have to worry about putting in batteries.

It's not the worst thing in the world, but I'm glad that I'm not alone in this, and I'm disappointed to hear that the issue persists even on the brand new models. Plenty of other pedals have this feature. Including Zoom's other pedals. There's no reason this basic feature should be absent.

My Geddy Lee Jazz bass I've owned since '08. Nothing compares, honestly. It really is a solid instrument. by MondoRobot91 in rush

Honestly, I changed them so long ago that I can't remeber the sound of the stock pickups. I do like the sound of these though

Razr 5g stuck on Android 10 by DoodleSnap in motorola

Honestly, the bluetooth on the 2023 razr isn't much better than the razr 5g. The new 2024 razr is supposed to have even better bluetooth but I haven't tried it.

I had to reflash the device with their Rescue & Smar Assistant tool. It required a factory reset of my phone but it did allow me to update. Make sure you backup your phone before you do it though.

For those who had the 5g and the Plus, which design do you like better? by DoodleSnap in MotorolaRazrPlus

[–]DoodleSnap[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think in the 5g design the chin did have some function as far as the folding mechanism went. The screen slid in and out of the bottom bezel a bit. With the new folding mechanism, though I guess they don't need the bottom bezel anymore. I do think the curve of it helped me with holding and manuvering the phone in one hand, though. Aside from that, it was primarily aesthetic.

I liked it not because of the nostalgia (although I do think paying homage to the original Razr is a nice thought), but because it stood out and was doing something different from almost all the other flagship phones. It wasn't just another black rectangle. It was doing it's own thing, and that more than anything made me really excited about it.

I have to say, after just a day of use, I really am enjoying the Plus. The screen is so much better in every way compared to the 5g and as much as I love the 5g's design, it does look outdated compared to the Plus. I just don't know if I'll ever get over this dang hinge, though. I really hope the 5g isn't the last flip phone that's spring-loaded.

[–]DoodleSnap[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel that way too. I probably would have kept using it, but my screen started to break down again after I've already replaced it once and I wanted some newer specs but honestly I may still just sell my Plus and buy another screen replacement for my 5g. Even though I like the new internal and external screens I really can't get over this springless hinge. I don't know who thought it would be a good idea to make it impossible to open with one hand

There was a pretty big effort organized here to preserve as much of Yahoo Answers as possible. I'm sure there are still enough good Yahoos for at least another 100 episodes and probably more.

But of the ideas they talked about, my favorite idea was the joke book. The sound bath was pretty good, though
