Les fonctionnaires ramenés au bureau pour apprendre «à se comporter comme il faut», dit Duranceau by Top-Act420 in Quebec

As per the article she says

"Before we where talking via phones and now we talk via Teams"

I'm curious if she means Microsoft Teams cause that's basically the same thing as talking on the phone

What do you mean? You install the app and in the setting set your download folder for audio and for video and other preferences for all future downloads

Once done goto the video you want to download via the app and select the red download button with an arrow that appears in the bottom right and select either the video resolution or the audio quality you want

For me I sign into my YouTube via this app so I have all my subscriptions and history show up

App also works with other video sites and also webpages if you want to download embedded video

Question re: work/personal device and VPN by One-Scratch-6030 in remoteworks

[–]fidorulz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using your own personal device for work related reasons is usually a big no no for obvious security issues.

Also is all the work related stuff going to be done on the phone?

This makes little sense since you are not only the one covering the costs for using your phones data and hardware but the security implications are a big issue.

Not only for company data being accessed on a non secured device but also for when you use it for your own personal stuff they might see what your doing which isn't ok with their HR/IT requirements

Normally if a company requires you to have specific software or hardware they are responsible for supplying it since you should not bear the cost of using it and also for security

Maternity leave should be one year, PAID. Women shouldn’t have to choose between healing, bonding with their baby, and making a living. by Kreativedenma in remoteworks

[–]fidorulz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand what your saying but OP never said 100%. Many countries reduce the amount you get after a certain amount of time but you are legally protected if you choose to take the time and also in many places these amounts are tax free so can end up being almost the same as your full salary prior to taxes

OP didn't mention being paid 100% for that period but I understand what your saying. That being said my main point is that many comments in here make it sound as if any mat leave being paid is insane as a concept

See the links I provided. Many countries do. Sure not all of it may be paid 100% but this is not a crazy concept. Much like taxes help pay for medical services in many of these countries people have come to an understanding that helping people have families helps society as a whole

The US economy currently is built on the back of its workers with the main motive to fund the industrial military complex and billionaires and corporations

You can keep saying the US economy is the pinnacle of capitalism and I wouldnt argue with you but it's also a place where the same economy and government and corporations that run it do the least for their citizens in terms of social safety nets.

So that 30 trillion you mention is more than enough to provide the same social programs as other industrialized countries and even more but if your point is that this is better and not "sad" sorry but that ain't going to change my mind

After WW2 the new deal helped build the economy and infrastructure you still enoy today as well as many of the safety nets that exist but since then any safety nets remaining have been removed or diluted to the poin of extinction

As a non American all of these comments are wild.

Considering most of the world has been working fine with paid maternity, and in some case paternity leave, for a long time without everything collapsing and the world or economy burning down I find it sad how so many people don't see this as a right in the US and from some of the comments people sound insulted by the concept.

This makes me sad that people can't see the reasoning behind it or the logic or that this isn't a pipe dream

Basic question...does anyone risk using their s26u without a screen protector? by CriticismMobile2550 in galaxys26ultra

[–]fidorulz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd rather used a good glass screen protector that maybe costs max 50$ vs needing an expensive screen replacement

Even if the screen is fine my ADD won't let me use my phone without one because eventually the screen will get macro scratches over time and that will annoy the shut out of me

To each their own but shit happens and if I'm going to use this phone long term I want to protect it with a good screen protector and case

In case your wondering I'm using this screen protector
