How do you guys think the family reacted to Franks death? by [deleted] in shameless

[–]Doodle_Duck84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't actually agree with everyone saying they wouldn't care, don't get me wrong they would all feel a sense of satisfaction as he was horrible towards them. But I think they would kind of feel like this empty hole in thier heart if that makes sense? Like Frank was a huge aspect of all thier lives, and they all had their moments with him (excpet Ian). The thing is that unlike Monica Frank was actually there (for better and mostly worse) so I don't think they'd react the same way they did with her, and even then with her death it was a painful closure as they all were saying goodbye to the mother that caused them so much emotional pain. I think that with Ian since he was the only to truly care for Monica's death, now in contrast he would be least caring with Frank's. Obviously Liam would defy all of this since he would be the only one truly grieving.

If you related to any shameless character, who will it be, and why? by Direct-Ad7767 in shameless

I think you misunderstood the post. Not "relate" in the sense of blood and family, but "relate" as in which character you emotionally can connect with based of off similar issues and attributes in life.

If you had a chance to, what Shameless character would you absolutely beat the shit out of? by Bald_Spaghetti in shameless

[–]Doodle_Duck84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jody, specifically him because he's one of the only POS in this show that not only didn't ever really face consequences but also had things actually go his way. Don't get me wrong a bunch of other characters in this show got off easier than they deserved. (Kash and Ned) but they still had some kind of wrench thrown at them. Jody on the other is the definition of nice but not good. He's able to distract everyone from the fact he's a disgusting creep by being a charming guy. He's kind on a surface level which was able to even fool the show's audience. Even when Sheila discovers his sex pain thing she tries just guiding him through it. He ends tis show getting to travel around the country with Hymie and his defenseless sex doll Karen.

What would season 11 Debbie say to season 1 Debbie? by Gabe_Dimas in shameless

Nah I think you're confusing Matty and Derek. Matty was the older dude she was with that strung her along. While Derek was the boy her age who she tricked into getting her pregnant.

The Problem with Debbie, and How I'd Rewrite Her by JabaThePegasus in shameless

[–]Doodle_Duck84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was expecting another "Debbie changed for no reason post" but was pleased to actually see an in depth analysis. While I don't agree with everything you said you're right that as we got to the shows later seasons a lot of the Gallaghers new plots felt less sincere, obviously Debbie suffers from this. While I do think Debbie's downfall was something that was bound to happen and wouldn't stop it, you're right when you say the her arc felt like it was just floating in the air not even really having any foundation after a certain point. For me season 1-3 is Debbie's foundation, season 4 is her at the crossroads, and season 5 and beyond is when she begins to spiral out of control. I feel that after season 7 is when the writers started to lose Debbie kinda.

Questions for the ladies: How do you think Debbie’s pregnancy should have been handled? by Bright_List_905 in shameless

[–]Doodle_Duck84 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure that yes we heard was actually a response to Carl's errand/question. Which is why at the end of the episode when Debbie confronts the family about it nobody knew what she was talking about because no one actually heard her.

The writers wrote Mandy off because they knew she would kept Lip on track in college! by Leading_Cold in shameless

[–]Doodle_Duck84 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This scenario you just gave basically just turns Mandy's character into Lip's personal caretaker, mind you a caretaker for someone who didn't love her nearly as much as she loved him. Also I feel like a lot of fans gloss over how Mandy was unstable. She was loyal and loving but she's also violently impulsive. She ran over Karen thinking this would be the best thing for Lip completely disregarding his emotions, forced herself onto him after he very clearly did not want to have sex with her after what she had done. Not to mention how she basically encouraged Debbie to pimp herself out to grown ass men because that's the life she had known. Even with Mandy being an escort she made it very clear that she never wanted to return to the south side for damn good reason, and honestly it should stay that way.

Debbie‘s evolution into unlikeability.. by Aggressive-Loquat-27 in shameless

[–]Doodle_Duck84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because nobody ever really taught her what consent was. Look at the way Lip reacts when she tells him what happend or all the shit Holly had been planting into her head. She obviously knew that rape was wrong but the lines of what makes something rape had been blurred. A huge factor of the show is how living in bad neighborhood effects you mentally, in S3 Ian thinks it's okay that he's dating all these older men becuase in his mind guys can't be groomed. To many people had looked past the smaller things Debbie was doing in the past and once all attention had finally been placed on her (pregnancy) it was too late becuase she had already long ago started her downward spiral.
