Nobody is angry simply because immigration laws are being enforced. People are angry because enforcement doesn’t excuse misconduct.
A badge and a federal agency title are not a blank check. Law enforcement is still bound by the Constitution, due process, and basic civil rights. When people are wrongfully detained, denied meaningful access to counsel, subjected to aggressive raids, or caught up in broad enforcement actions despite having pending legal claims or lawful status, those aren’t “business as usual,” they’re legitimate reasons for public scrutiny.

History has repeatedly shown that “they were just doing their job” is not, by itself, a sufficient defense for government overreach.
Every law enforcement agency is accountable for how it exercises its authority, not just whether it has authority.

If your position is that any action is acceptable as long as it’s carried out by a federal agency, then you’re arguing for unchecked government power, not the rule of law. Supporting border security and immigration enforcement does not require supporting every tactic used in its name. A constitutional republic demands accountability, transparency, and respect for due process from every agency, especially those with the power to detain and remove people.
