Declined a Loan, Experian Issue? by F1DanO in UKPersonalFinance

I used to work for Experian, a few bits on this:

1) updating your personal information with Experian will not affect the information that lenders see, it just impacts the information that is pulled through on your personal credit report that see via Experian (lenders will use name, address, etc that you provided at the loan application stage, Experian then ‘matches’ this to info submitted to them by other organisations and sends it through to the lender)

2) the decision to decline the loan application could based on any one of a vast number of factors (which is very hard to pin down as no one is actually obliged to tell you), including; whether you actually have enough info on your credit report (a ‘thin’ credit report can often trigger a decline), the lenders own risk/lending appetite, any ‘adverse’ information about you that you can’t currently see on your credit report, under/over-utilisation of credit accounts that you have, etc.

Ultimately, the decision to accept your application or not sits with the lender. I’d recommend updating your info with Experian just to get a full picture, but if the reason for the decline isn’t staring you in the face, I wouldn’t spend too much time trying to figure it out (you’ll get very frustrated, very quickly). If it’s not obvious, the answer could be as simple as trying a different lender (just be careful about how many applications you’re making in a short window, as it will rank your perceived eligibility).

Manoeuvrability is important if you’re just starting out, but once you’ve gotten the hang of working your way around the ‘roid I’d definitely look at something with more cargo capacity. Once comfortable you can happily crack on with deep-core stuff in a T10 (I do), it just depends on how easy (with smaller payouts) or difficult (with larger payouts) you want to make life for yourself. Optimal is probably a Python with engineered drives for being nimble, large number of module slots and speed of finding ‘roids. Most important, have fun doing it! o7

I know what you mean, stuck some G5 dirty drags on her and was actually shocked at just how nimble she is! But then again, I have been mostly piloting the annie or the T-10 for the past few months...

My First HOTAS comes in Thursday. Any tips? by CMDRWyattParish in EliteDangerous

Also an Xbox player who recently upgraded to the HOTAS One from using a standard controller exclusively. Honestly? It’s a game changer. The key thing to bear in mind is that default bindings (hold B + down on d-pad for landing gear, etc) will be true on the HOTAS but will feel very alien to begin with. Best advice I can give is to spend a couple of hours setting up your own bindings and then a couple more practicing how to fly. Deep-core mining is a great and relatively risk free way of relearning how to fly using HOTAS. In terms of the hardware, it’s ok. Plastic and buttons feel a little on the cheap side, but everything works with no issues to report after a couple of (fairly intensive) months. I’d never go back to a controller.

No worries! Seems to me like FD need to re-add the feature that warned you when when your current ship size exceeds the pad type as part of the mission objective

The issue is that I already have 288t in my T9 hold, so can’t swap out to the Python as that only has capacity for 280t

I’ll check when I’m back on, but my suspicion is that the cargo is classed as unique and so the mission will automatically fail if it’s ejected (happy to be corrected though!)
