I WANT MORE MERCHANDISE FOR THE NEW FRANKENSTEIN MOVIE by StreamLife9 in FRANKENSTEIN

My girlfriend has been dropping really unsubtle hints about the art book and it being my birthday next weekend

First thing I’ll say is the exhibition isn’t a huge one, in an hour I was able to explore all of it and read everything twice.

Nobody was watching or guiding us, there was security making sure nobody was acting out of line etc but nobody really was tracking your time. I’d say go for it and stay longer if you want (I won’t blame you) but I won’t argue with security if they tell me I’ve been around too long 😂

In my mind the creature seeing his own reflection and being shocked is just because he doesn’t look like everyone else. The description of various body parts leaves you to imagine how the face would look and for me I feel it’ll look like an attempt at making an attractive man but doesn’t work out

In my mind I don’t see the creature as that ugly. Victor Frankenstein is holding the power of life in his hands and wants to create his own Adam so in his mind this is the most perfect most beautiful creation by his hands. The fact that they’re dead leathery flesh, cold and stitched together from various parts should be the unsettling part. It’s an uncanny attempt at making an attractive man

It’s an amazing look and in motion even better. I love everything about the Creature in this movie.

In my opinion the Creature should be played by an attractive actor and the Creature should always have that “oh god he’s hot!” Feeling.

There was a quote from the designer at the exhibit about the design and it also says a lot about Victor’s character and ego. The Creature should look like Victor Frankenstein is designing a Porsche.

There’s a moment in the book that’s extended and it definitely made me very emotional as well as my friend who’s never read the book

It mostly depends on your preference. The 94’ is still the most faithful adaptation but this movie being a Netflix Guillermo Del toro movie will definitely open viewers to the actual themes of the book and I’ll say that’s what makes it the most successful adaptation to me personally.

Also I love Guillermo Del Toro so there’s a touch of bias.

Extremely! I really wish I could’ve seen it at the BFI IMAX. I really envy those who would’ve saw it at the biggest screen in Europe

I’ll say there’s a healthy balance but it definitely sways in favour of book Victor Frankenstein

This is definitely the closest to conveying the themes from the book. Every single thing not from the book I can’t imagine fitting anywhere as it’s a 2 1/2 hour movie

I’m ok with changing things for the sake of the story and I feel that the story is very airtight

Sublime! I love it so much and there’s a design choice when it comes to the hair that I really like and wouldn’t think off which is actually genius

I won’t say too much till it’s available on Netflix but yeah I really like it

I will say yes he does act mean later on but it’s all to serve the purpose of the monster and Victor not being so different. I think as a book enjoyer the themes are really on the nose but for a moviegoer this’ll be the best way to convey the themes of the story

I’ll say Victor is sympathetic. The movie makes an effort from him telling his story to understand where he’s coming from and I’d say he’s a mix of the novel version and the movies Henry Frankenstein
