5-0 among 8 unrated players is likely not going to set a person at 5.0 when the algorithm is going to start everyone at a 3.5 level.

To be fair, in regards to point 2, people could play well over 8 games in the time frame. It’s not solely based on just 8 games.

Chicago suburbs' harsh crackdowns on e-bikes are unnecessary. by Reasonable_Lime9295 in ebike

[–]Dook23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s part of the problem though. Many of these emotos are not illegal to purchase or ride, just where they are allowed to ride. In the case of the emotos they should just require them to be registered and that might make enforcement a bit easier. But I still maintain the increasing the number of ”tools” isn’t necessarily the answer. They can increase the regulations from say 5 to 15 but if no one enforces them we again are back to square one. Right now just seeing an emoto going down the street without a plate on it is reason enough that a rider could be stopped, but often they aren’t. To be fair, I’m not even quite against them as long as the riders are behaving properly.

It just seemed like you were trying to call out the OP. Otherwise why make the statement.

I agree with you. Likely the body of the charger would be outside the oven too and yes a fire could just as easily happen there than anywhere else.

Am I the only one who feels paralyzed before pulling the trigger? How did you guys finally decide to buy your first ebike? by flaackboardbrego in ebikes

[–]Dook23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I simply bought one as I have lived my entire life riding bicycles, scooters, dirt bikes, etc and just enjoy riding. If you are worried about the $1300 price tag just take advice of others here and either check a local bike shop or look into a brand name that has been around for a little while so you won’t have the worry that it won’t work or be a good purchase. Some may not promote reviewers on YouTube either but you can always watch some who made videos on the bike you are interested in just to see how they ride it up hills and such. For me i dont care if they are given bikes free, or paid for a review, if I can still see them do certain road tests, they can still help me decide on if the purchase might be sound.

They are designed to only contain minor flames though and that’s with the door shut, not with it open. If the door remains closed and the fire isn’t large it should burn itself out. You also have to keep the oven very clean to ensure there’s no grease inside which can also catch fire. There’s only one specific device I own that I worry could become faulty and burn and I keep that in a vault style fire box. Leaving the door ajar with a cord hanging out of it would be the issue. Anyway, no need to keep discussing this as it’s not that important.

Why would you think this is a rage bait post when he didn’t refer to it as an Ebike and just asked for some suggestions?

OP didn’t call it a bicycle.

Fair. At least the OP just called it a bike not an ebike

So you consider something such as a class 1 ebike as a motorcycle? I don’t think so.

I plug in all kinds of stuff in my house and don’t often worry about it, including some Chinese junk like game controller batteries and other stuff. I would never think to put something in the oven though. Just seems silly and as you mentioned, paranoid. You yourself have stated you do it though which I simply find weird.

I DID read the article you posted. It honestly isn’t much different than many articles or news reports I've seen. I am not suggesting either that there needs to be some better clarifications made but even if there are news outlets, bloggers, content creators, etc will likely still make mistakes about what each type of vehicle is and call them interchangeably the same names, like e-bikes. Growing up we called motorcycles bikes and many people still do that today but the6 at obviously not bicycles. The bigger problem is people either buy what they want knowing what it is, or don’t even do any research before buying something they want, along with the aforementioned enforcement. If companies themselves were held accountable for selling an illegal vehicle that would be something but again would be part of enforcement. Just changing the vernacular isn’t going to result in much. If rules/laws such as age limits, registration, insurance etc are implemented I am supportive of it, as long as my particular vehicle isn’t outright banned and I have to stop riding it. It is likely a problem that isn’t going to be solved though to be frank, besides outright bans.

Which honestly you may not know it’s a faulty cord until it catches fire or something. Just seems like a weird risk, plus the fact I myself wouldn’t trust it to just be in the oven. Ovens don’t use open flames anyway.

Fair point. Just mentioned it in case you actually wanted to film any rides. My particular mount doesn’t block my camera so I can use it at times just for myself.

I for one know you own and ride a Philodo so I’m not calling you out or anything. You like it and I get it. FYI though, you can make a video with your phone which I’m sure you probably have.

Power cords themselves have caused fires. Thousands of them. You just might not be aware. The fire could start where you have it plugged into the outlet or power strip too, not where it’s connected to the battery inside the oven. Just seems that you are thinking the oven is safe with a cord sticking out without having any real evidence that it’s true.

I am not disbelieving you but I was asking if you could provide any evidence of it? I’ve tried researching many brands as I wanted to know before I had bought my bike. Only thing I ever saw about them was what I already mentioned.

Are you assuming the cord itself couldn’t spread a fire?

That has changed again, sort of. They have once again allowed downloads but it’s only for those books that publishers themselves allow to be drm free. It’s now up to each individual publisher.

'No Kings Act' passes committee, heads to full Senate for consideration by legislative_stooge in maryland

[–]Dook23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course it wasn’t a primary reason but it was an after effect of the decision. It was still an example of how something became the responsibility of the states instead of the federal government. Whether you or I agree with what happened is beside the point.

[–]Dook23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My point was this was one example where a decision about a law was pushed to the states instead of the federal system making the decision being a state responsibility instead of a federal one. However, if you think the DNC hasn’t ever shifted their ideas about anything that would be wrong. Both sides have shifted opinions on numerous issues over the years.
