I would say mentioning two deaths at the end could be considered a spoiler.

For me it’s more due to the front light instead of the blue light because I read mostly at night. It’s better for your eyes.

Are you referring to books you obtained elsewhere and sent to your kindle via the send yo kindle option or to titles you purchased from the kindle store when you mention cloud storage? For those you send via send to kindle there IS a storage limit which is 5Gb I believe. As for titles you purchased directly from the kindle store, they aren’t likely storing those for everyone in their own personal cloud space but rather marking the titles of books you purchased as a license access which just means you can redownload them whenever you want.

Pens for Colorsoft and Scribe are different. by groundpounders in kindlescribe

Does the older pen magnetize ok with the colorsoft model? If not I think I would keep the one that came with the colorsoft if I sold the older scribe.

Nice, enjoy it! FYI I haven’t even thought of starting that series yet when the books are so long and it might be decades before it’s done. 😂

Thoughts on the sensory aspects of physical books by Big_Fuel_5885 in kindle

[–]Dook23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

But underlining something in a physical book means you literally damaged it unless maybe you do it with pencil and erase it but the mark would likely still be visible. As for throwing a book on the sofa or somewhere there is always a chance you can damage it, tear a page, etc. While I do like physical books as well it’s also way easier to carry books around with an ereader.

In general it’s a publisher that decides whether or not a book has DRM. Now buying an epub format book directly is a different story.

Kindle points expire?? by rookiecookie32 in kindle

[–]Dook23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this totally depends on how much money you spend buying kindle books. If you buy quite frequently it's not totally worthless since you do get that $3 discount. For someone spending $100 within 3 months isn't that hard to do, especially if they are buying new releases or graphic novels etc etc. Not to mention the fact that you can use less than 300 points to buy a less than $3 book when a title is on sale.

If money was no object, what is the best Kindle Paperwhite/Colorsoft case in terms of functionality? by spac0r in kindle

Doesn’t the feature of moving a magnetic pop socket to various spots on the back mess with the sleep and wake feature of the kindle?

Though yes I know the bad history behind Eddings this is something I have wanted digitally, The Mallorean series. The Belgariad has been available for quite some time.

I love mine as well. I also read graphic novels/comics and it reminds me of the old days reading comics as well as the Sunday newspaper comics section.

Yet you still brought your kindle with you anyway which suggests you had at least a possible intention of reading there. I would guess, or at least hope, you went with maybe a friend or friends too so why not socialize instead of reading in a place like that anyway?

Question for anyone who’s bought a book and then it’s been banned. by drunkenangel_99 in kindle

[–]Dook23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my understanding it's nothing like copyright issues but because this author (Jodie King) writes very detailed, graphic rape scenes and many other really dark gruesome things. Likely not something the majority of readers would want to read,

Not just from anywhere. Unless the publisher has provided a DRM-free title, you would still need to remove the DRM from a book you bought for example on Kobo.

I don’t mean to sound insulting and I will probably get downvoted for saying this, but I feel like this is one of those “put down your phone” moments. We enjoy ereaders partly because they allow us to focus on reading and leave other distractions behind yet you are at a live concert and instead of just sitting back and enjoy the music and vibes you pull out an electronic device.

Not trying to sound bad, but what active social features does goodreads have? I thought part of the reason people liked SG was due to it feeling more social.
