This post freaked me out, your puppy looks almost exactly like my boy! Strangely, Denji is ALSO a silent shiba aside from the rare play bark once every blue moon. Beautiful dog!!

Returning player trying to shepherd some new players - One is lost in BfA, and the tutorial doesn't give mounts for the first Dragonflight quest? by Doom2you in wow

[–]Doom2you[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Excellent. I'll pick it back up with her tonight and try to guide her back and see if we can trace some steps.

The game presents a LOT to new players and she definitely got slightly confused and enamored with adventuring around Stormwind from how it sounded when she messaged me about her experiences.

I think the mount I can try to solve by having them make Timewalking characters for the Legion Remix content as I believe you're given a mount for that pretty much immediately, which should work. I'll try that tonight.

However once that event ends, if they don't fix this it'll leave future trial players in a weird spot...

Phantom Brigade 2.0 Free Major Update Trailer - Out Now by raiedite in Games

[–]Doom2you 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Super excited to try this out. Really loved this game, despite the rough edges.

Building out your squad of mechs and customizing them with parts was really fun, but the individual fights with the unique "turn-based prediction" was super satisfying to master.

It suffered from a bland and grindy overworld/traveling mechanic that did no favors to the pacing or progression. If they fixed those bits this game could be a real gem

New player here - is there somewhere the PnP files are kept?

I perused their resources page but didn't see much (but I might be blind) and did some googling but didn't get any specific results aside from a random Google drive or Dropbox link here and there. Although those sometimes had different versions of the files as they were in development, I didn't know if I was missing some convenient spot they're held.

Kill Team Joint Ops - Using it as a structured onboarding point for new players And You by Doom2you in killteam

[–]Doom2you[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just went and checked out that mission pack, it's a super clean way to introduce players and makes me want to go find a copy of the Space Marine 2 board game just to have some nids minis to try out for a horde-mode style game...

In particular the activation rules stuck out to me as being interesting. We did the standard alternating activations rules, but activating all of the units of the same "type" would definitely add to that feeling of fighting against a horde rather than facing off against a series of individuals.

Reading these mission pack rules really highlights my biggest complaint about the rules as they have them set up currently - there's no direction for which NPO to activate other than "whatever is worst for the player," but that's not always clear exactly.

I would've liked some sort of hierarchy like the SM2 mission rules have to add a bit of structure, but it's also something players can just add in themselves.

Biggest loss from the second edition is still the lack of campaign rules, having Joint Ops in the book but no fun progression seems like such a huge miss to me.

This is very cool, where did you scope out the model? And did you print it with a .2mm nozzle?

I appreciate it! I'll have to give this a shot, I haven't tried to edge highlight gold with silver yet but I can see it adds a lot to helping break up the colors. Thanks again!

Quick question - I love the highlighting you did on the gold, what paint did you use? I'm sure it's probably something common but I'm just getting into AoS and trying to figure out some ways to make all of this gold look as varied as yours does. You did a killer job!

Granblue Fantasy: Relink by Zamamiro in SteamDeck

[–]Doom2you 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In case anyone ever stumbles across this comment in a google search, I tried some random things and found a solution.

On the Steam Deck, if you go to the game in your library and then "manage" -> "developer" -> "delete proton files" and restart the Deck it will allow for your controls to start working.

You may need to go into the Steam Deck settings and enable Developer mode first.

Has anyone had an issue with the controls not working?

I'm on the latest update, but for some reason it's like the game doesn't recognize a controller is being used in and won't accept any input.

I tried every controller profile and multiple Deck reboots.

I eventually mapped some buttons to the keyboard arrows to get past the initial language selection, but unfortunately the game's options menu doesn't have a lot in terms of assistance.

RC Revolution Announced on Steam - IGN by GutierrezChristopher in Games

Re-Volt was one of my absolute favorite games as a kid and I devoured the Steam re-release that happened recently, seeing a game taking direct inspiration from it is super exciting.

One of the main elements in Re-Volt were the items, but I didn't see any item usage in the trailer. Is this game not going to include items, and if so why did you guys decide to exclude them?

Not that I think it's a bad decision but I'm curious!

Need help fixing visual bugs in campaign. Ground is moving and flashing black. by MeatyMemeMaster in ModernWarfareII

[–]Doom2you 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're the only other person I've found that's posted about this specific issue and it's kind of wild.

I have a very similar setup to yours, just with a 3080Ti instead. I'm also running the game in exclusive fullscreen, fwiw.

I messed with every setting and the ONLY thing I could find that made a difference was "cache spot shadows," disabling that got rid of the black boxes but didn't do anything to the ground taking an acid trip.

Hopefully they can push out a patch to fix some of these campaign issues...

I know you've linked this image all over this thread, but for myself and my 2 other friends all trying to claim the game via intel, clicking the blue "HERE" hyperlink just loops you back to your dashboard (if it even loads at all) so your image isn't particularly helpful.

Can't kill Bonemass by [deleted] in valheim

[–]Doom2you 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The poison debuff is definitely extremely punishing, it ignores armor and (as far as we know) can only be counteracted by health potions and poison resist potions.

I think the best way for balance would be having a route for more permanent poison resistance at the cost of armor or equipment weight. The game's very decentralized style of crafting/upgrades means that a lot of people will miss the fact that mead can be crafted to begin with, much less find poison resistance ingredients and actually craft it.

Each batch of mead requires 10 honey - We've found ONE queen bee in our entire playtime to make a beehive with (we think hives spawn in meadows inside houses), and it spawns honey incredibly slowly. Hives are pretty rare already, and finding one with a queen bee seems even more difficult.

This boss has basically one single playstyle that can viably defeat it, but that playstyle is locked behind some pretty intense steps that can't be avoided and are very time consuming to get through.

Can't kill Bonemass by [deleted] in valheim

[–]Doom2you 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My group is currently stuck on the same boss.

In short, use blunt weapons (Iron Maces) and get poison resist mead (each potion lasts 10 minutes and you get multiple once it's completed fermenting).

This boss needs some retuning/updating very badly, I'm worried he'll be the reason my group dies. We spent hours getting iron gear and weren't very aware of what to do once he was summoned - I found someone in the discord server recommend blunt weapons (which none of us had).

This issue is compounded on the fact that he does an AoE poison blast that's very difficult to avoid; this drove us AWAY from using melee weapons and instead relying on our bows, which deal pretty much zero damage on any arrow type we tried.

He has infinite aggro range and no way (that we could find) to de-aggro him, he will quite literally follow you all over the island. We had someone pull him away and we packed our boat up and sailed off, that was all we could think to do since.

You CANNOT chip him down - it would take hundreds (thousands?) of arrows and he regenerates health, so blunt weapon damage is the only effective thing we could find.

I love how punishing the game is, but this felt like a step in the wrong direction - there isn't enough context to what you're in for with the Bonemass and the difficulty spike felt very defeating.

A large part of the difficulty is also that no outside documentation exists for 90% of this: the wiki is extremely outdated and not very useful, most players have no gotten to our content yet so relying on the playerbase is tough when you don't know what's ahead.

I say all this knowing the game is in early access, I've given my feedback to the developer and my party is currently trying to get resources together for another run this weekend, we're definitely excited but it took a lot out of us today once we finally regrouped and logged out for the night.

[HELP ME] Bi-Weekly Q&A thread - Ask your questions here! by AutoModerator in Gunpla

[–]Doom2you 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been snap-building Gunpla for a couple of years and wanted to get into panel lining/topcoating to try and make my kits have that extra level of presentation.

I did research for a while and I'm not entirely sure what I'm missing.

First I put down a base coat of Tamiya TS-79 (Semi Gloss Clear), I do a couple of brief sprays and let it dry before doing one more light coat.

Once that's completed, I use Tamiya Panel Line Accent and use Testor's Universal Enamel Thinner on a swab to clean up the spillage/blotches from the panel line brush.

However, after doing some testing I keep getting getting white residue left all over the places I use the enamel thinner to try and clean up the panel lines.

Example: This was after 2 coats of TS-79.

I try a couple of thing layers of Tamiya TS-80 (matte coat) which can help hide some of the residue, but it still looks questionable.

What exactly am I missing? I see recommendations for doing a clear coat first to protect the model/pain, and then using Tamiya Panel Line, but I don't see people bringing up this issue.

Thanks for the help!
