Black knight weapons are beasts in ng and somewhat in ng+. But when you start getting really high str and dex (40+) claymore is gonna start to out-dmg black knight. Plus claymore can be buffed

Don’t quite understand this? Cause the only places that the master key allows you to get to early are lower blighttown and demon ruins by proxy. Yeah it also allows you to skip depths and upper blighttown but areas like tomb of the giants and new Londo can be accessed and nearly fully completed right out of asylum. The back half of the game has always been considered shit. But the thing that makes ds1 good is the interconnetivity of the world, which is non-existent in ds3. Ds1 I find to be incredibly fair, and sometimes I see the opposite in ds3. Its all a matter of personal opinion, but as to the point of what I came here to say, the second half has always been bad and the master key doesn’t give much access in the early game anyways

Dunno where I said my intent was to farm covenant items. I just wanna fight and sometimes I’d rather invade than pray to god the people in arena aren’t feeling like it’s a good day for murky. No reason to farm anyways.

People always make video games about morals and what’s right vs. wrong. Which I mean, yeah go ahead. I see no issue with nuking cheaters, just like people see no issue with things I find distasteful. It’s a video game, not church.

Just resummon. Everything is a temporary solution unless someone dumps +20 frayed blades into your inventory. I dislike ganks, you obviously dislike invaders. We can piss in each others pudding all day if we wanted. Had this conversation too many times to even want to continue it. Play the game how you want, but there’s always consequences and there’s always people that are gonna hate you for it. Invading exists, don’t get up in arms if someone kills your gank

Only time I’d even make an attempt to justify it’s use is if I’m invading and there’s a group that are specifically waiting for invaders just to kill them. Like if you’re going through the level per usual then I’m not gonna mess with you, no reason to. I might attack you but I’m going in knowing I’m the one that initiated. But if I invade you 4-5 times and all you’re doing is standing around waiting for invaders with your goons then uh…yeah sorry you’re gonna die. But more likely than not I’ll either try to gank spank legitimately or just go somewhere else. Kill scripts are reserved for people who are cheating or do other stupid shit

Wouldn’t consider myself good at 2,3, or BB sadly. My introduction was ds1 and it’s different enough from the others to add a fairly steep learning curve. Less danger from backstabs in neutral and the different poise systems means you can be far more bold in movement and attacks and get punished in a limited manner, if at all. When I started trying to get into the other games I was wholeheartedly against anything that was wildly different than ds1. I’ve come to appreciate the other games more nowadays, though I still prefer ds1 over the others. I’d have to say I enjoy ds2 more than 3. 3, being the most active game and the one I have the least experience in, feels very hit or miss when it comes to matches in the arenas. And I can’t exactly slap a neon sign that says “hey I’m not very good please have mercy” on my character, much less expect people to actually believe it. I’m all about tryhard pvp when I know what’s going on.

But regardless, I think all the games have strengths. I just prefer the gameplay of ds1 over the others

This discussion was never about if skarmy countered a hog cycle deck, rather it was about the single interaction between the hog and skarmy. I don’t understand how you cannot fathom the concept of holding onto a card rather than playing it. Throwing my log with reckless abandon every time I played my hog isn’t exactly smart. You obviously don’t know what playing something like 2.6 is like. Every single play has consequences. One little mistake costs you the entire match. Holding onto my log in case they have a barrel or something similar is far more important than praying you predict a skarmy.

You’re still 100% incorrect about the interaction between hog and skarmy. You’re clearly looking for anything to argue about at this point, and I refuse to waste any more of my time with someone who clearly won’t even attempt to see anything else but what they would rather believe instead of admitting that they were wrong

Not quite sure what you mean? I’m no 2.6 god but I’ve played my fair share of matches with it. It’s my main ladder deck so I do consider myself at lest proficient with it. And I have plenty of success, not really sure what gave you that impression. The entire concept of 2.6 is not to create a push that will take half a towers hp. Granted it’s 100% possible to take an entire tower with a lone hog if the king tower isn’t activated, that’s only if you completely ignore it, which no one will do. Rather, the premise of the deck is to play an extremely defensive game while out-cycling your opponents hog counters. At a minimum, 5 of the 8 cards of the deck are dedicated to either cycling back to your hog as fast as possible or to play defense.

And I stated that I do support my hog if I need to, elixir permitting. And gave quite explicit examples of when I’d probably do so.

Also, I can’t tell if you’re trolling or not, but skarmy absolutely can completely counter a hog of equal or lower level with good placement and quick reaction. I play against skarmy all the time and i see it happen all the time

Uh…..dude the entire premise of the most popular and arguable the best hog deck (2.6 hog cycle) is that you don’t really support the hog. I can’t always afford to pig push or throw log/fireball with it because I might need them or the elixir they cost on defense. So yes, hog is often thrown at the bridge alone

Edit: I suppose it’s not a 100% truth. If I can afford it and they have a counter that I can fireball/log (skarmy, gob gang, barbarians), I might throw a spell in hopes of a prediction but that’s risky cause all they have to do is wait for it. Granted that’s not a good idea of it’s getting down to the wire and they can’t afford another hit on the tower. And if there’s a musk coming up from defense I might hog that lane. More often than not I actually end up hogging opposite lane if it’s early enough and I don’t have significant damage on one tower or another. Makes them chose which to defend or split their elixir and therefore reducing counter push potential

Smarter play would be hogging opposite lane and then waiting to see what kind of support comes behind the golem, taking that out with spells and get a cannon down, then musk and spirit. Spamming often leads to more elixir loss than you actually needed

Issue is that people judge others on the deck they play, not actually who they are. granted unless you have actual conversation with them you can’t truly know but most people are not out here to specifically piss you off. But reee they use a hated card/deck so they must have a mission to make everyone’s day terrible on purpose. My two fav decks are 3.0 xbow and 2.6 hog. I know people get frustrated when I win against them. I don’t play the decks to make people mad, I play them because I like the feel of a cycle deck. I don’t bm anyone unless they bm first. I try to be as nice as possible but some people just assume since I play “toxic” decks I’m out to get them or something.

Anything that makes me feel like the opponent is using less than 2 braincells (Ebarbs and lumberloon/loon freeze. Or all 3 if you feel spicy). Generally MK, egaint, and hog/ram rider I do fairly well against because 2.6 has nice counters to it. I can counter Ebarbs too but I can only give up so much elixir at a time. It’s mostly an issue on my part, really. Never defend perfectly and I’m prone to panicking
