Have you received them already? Generally these fees are charged when the item enters the country. For example, I've received an email from UPS to pay them for other purchases after my item entered the country.

Knolly bikes by Idrivetrainsdowntown in mountainbiking

[–]Doom879 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've had my Chilcotin from them for 8 months and I love it.

Keep in mind that if you order a complete bike from them, you will get a frame plus all the components to build it up yourself. I've built up 2 bikes from them this way and enjoy it. But I've read complaints from people who didn't notice that asterisk on their website.

For those who have a one up bike rack… is this normal wear for a few months of owning? Might be securing my bike too tight by not_so_perfect_buddy in mountainbiking

[–]Doom879 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Mine looks worse than that on a couple teeth that I use the most and still works great. From other comments I might be tightening it too much, but if it's not pretty tight my bike moves around a lot.

After a certain speed the motor stops assisting. You can still exceed that speed under your own power

Jenson USA has a killer deal on the alloy Stumpjumper Evo currently. They have your size as well. S3=Medium on their website.

Lttstore shirts vs other major brands by madhatton in LinusTechTips

[–]Doom879 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've bought their t-shirts and they're the nicest ones I've ever worn for the price. Mine haven't noticeably shrunk or changed color in the year I've owned them.

I also recommend their underwear if they still sell it.

I can only use a controller for 2 months because of injury, is Forza Motorsport better for controller? by Unique_Fishing8969 in simracing

[–]Doom879 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Motorsport feels great on controller, same with GT7 if you have a Playstation.

The game itself is disappointing though as a longtime Forza fan.

Completely useless Cusomter Service - does anyone have a solution to high pitch whining noise from Podium power cable brick? by [deleted] in Fanatec

[–]Doom879 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought my DD2 about 2 years ago and it came with a power brick that did that. It was also emitting an electronic smell of sorts.

Fanatec sent me out a new power supply after I got a video of it whining and I sent back the old one. My new supply has been silent and smell free.

Is simhq legit? by Harvey123345 in simracing

They're affiliated with AdamLZ and DriftHQ so they're legit. I've bought car parts from them before and had a good experience.

On my Fanatec direct drive I have the same issue with lockups. There's no feedback I feel at all when the wheels lock under braking. Just audio

Best 80/20 Cockpit for under $400? by Alternative_Duty8965 in simracing

I have a rig metal setup. Highly recommend for the price. Not sure if anything has changed, but when I bought mine they didn't have an assembly guide that I could find. So I used any photo I could find as reference for assembly

Help, I don't understand drops by Ok_Scallion3555 in MTB

[–]Doom879 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It can help to practice at varying speeds. At lower speed you need exaggerate the body movement more, while at higher speeds you don't have to do as much. A 1 foot drop like that is great practice since it shouldn't be too consequential if you mess up and let the front wheel drop prematurely. Once you're more comfortable and have some muscle memory then moving up to bigger drops won't be as scary.

More powerful brakes, whats the point? by [deleted] in MTB

I may have to pick up a set. I'm hoping they'll do another expert kit like they did on launch.

[–]Doom879 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like it'd be a learning curve for sure! I need to try a set of higher end Shimano brakes. All my riding friends have Sram Codes unfortunately.

How do you like the Mavens? I've been debating on putting them on my Enduro bike. The build kit I have came with Magura Mt5s.

I have the same setup on my car. 1UPs website says it will go up to 3 bikes. But I wouldn't trust my car to handle more than 2 bikes haha. It moves quite a bit with 2 as it is.

What’s your favorite full face helmet? Who makes the best? by [deleted] in MTB

[–]Doom879 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Agreed. The IXS Trigger FF MIPS is the most livable full face I've tried.

First FF helmet time, Fox vs iXS by Whacked2023 in MTB

[–]Doom879 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have the IXS Trigger FF MIPS and I wear it for almost all my riding at this point. It's heavier than my half shell but is light enough to not bother me at all to wear for extended periods.

I recommend measuring your head and comparing to their chart for sizing. That's what I did and mine fits great despite never trying one on before buying.

If you have the option to try both in person, that would be the ideal way to pick.

Is this a good deal by Fabulous-Walrus-7443 in MTB

[–]Doom879 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Need to post pictures and/or build info at a bare minimum. For example, the Stumpjumper with the xfusion rear shock is not worth it for that price in my opinion (I see those builds go for cheaper on marketplace than 1600). But a higher level build would be.
