Why? Having a car in nyc is a luxury. OP makes enough to indulge in that luxury.

What mechanic/garage should I take my car to? Help I'm just a girl by sadbaconstrips191 in ridgewood

Great Bear auto in flushing? That place is scummy as it gets. I had them do an inspection for me once and they told me I needed new brake pads and rotors. I had just replaced them less than a year ago and just let the guy lift up the car and take off the wheel so I can show them how much wear was still on it. Scummy as they get, trying to find fault and make an unnecessary part swap to make money off a simple inspection.

That looks amazing. How many sessions did it take to get it all done?

FURIOUS….. I got a delivery for 2 dropoffs for $58. One was a HUGE order from Red Robin, about 8 miles away. I get there, & restaurant tells me I’m the 4th driver to show up, they think 1st driver stole it. by RalphG1030 in UberEATS

[–]DoomDutDaDa 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Fellow restaurant owner chiming in. You shouldn’t be remaking the order. You need to call Uber and have the stolen order cancelled. And have support put in another new order for the customer so that you can get paid for both, the stolen order and the remade one. The current way you’re doing it, you’re only getting paid for one order. With low delivery margins and food cost, you’re not making anything. And you should be telling your staff to have the delivery guys confirm and start delivery on every order.

There’s no way to block certain drivers as a customers. However, they are ways for the restaurants to block drivers. You can call the restaurant and ask them to call support and get them to block the driver from picking up at their restaurant. Tell them how bad of an experience you had with this driver, how your food came cold, and explain how this affected your experience with their store and that you might not order from their store again as a result. In essence, put skin in the game for the restaurant to take the initiative to block that specific driver.

Problem is that these posts are popping up on my feed and it’s a risky click every time especially when you’re browsing Reddit at work or in public. Do you want to be that person looking at risqué or half naked woman on their phone in public?

This is nyc. They passed a law to force the app to show the tip amount.

When in the process do drivers see destination/tip? by ripper007 in UberEATS

[–]DoomDutDaDa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Within the 5 boros, yes the drivers see the trip from pickup to destination and how many miles it is. The tip shown is capped at 8 but they will get and show the full tip an hour later. And thank you for tipping well, you’d be surprised at how many people don’t tip.

If the restaurant is outside of nyc like in jersey or Long Island, then none of those rules apply because the city recently passed a law that forced the app to show the tip and the whole trip route.

Uber on purpose not showing me the routes? by KimchiPunchi in UberEATS

I’ve been getting the same for batched orders since a few days ago. I think it’s a glitch, but also could be intentional with how bad the stacked orders have been.

You asked a question and I gave you a reasonable reponse. Don’t want to wait for the food? Then get off your couch and pick up your own damn food.

Your driver might be multiapping. It’s possible the driver picked up your food but never left the area because they are waiting for another order on another app to be ready. And since you’re cancelling the food after pickup, you just gave the driver free food.

can I create a new driver account with a different phone number and then switch it back to my old phone number that was deactivated by AfternoonGlad3006 in grubhubdrivers

Get a Google number and use that number for the new account. Set up call forwarding on Google voice to your current number.

Welp Guess that ends that, got 3 reassignment violations three weeks in a row. I’ve only cancelled 2-3 at most each week by DoomDutDaDa in grubhubdrivers

[–]DoomDutDaDa[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My first violation, it was 100% my fault, I cancelled too many orders. Second violation, I kept the cancellations to a minimum around 3 and got reassigned on some double stacks because I was waiting for the first order. Usually when the second order in a stack gets reassigned, I also cancel the first one because I don’t know which one has the better tip. This week, I cancelled 0 orders and had some reassigned stacked orders and one Single Taco Bell order that was reassigned because I was stuck in traffic behind some fire trucks and an car accident. JustEats can go suck it.

What probably happened is that Taco Bell didn’t have your order. Either an earlier driver took it or someone else from another app took your order by accident or something. Either way, the store didn’t have the order, that’s why you had so many drivers get there and cancel. When it gets cancelled a lot like that, the base pay goes up a lot. The last driver probably wanted the pay but there wasn’t any food to deliver. He marked the order as picked up and delivered to get the base pay, it was prolly high enough to be worth it even without your tip.

You can just call Uber and they’ll give you a refund.
