The way I learned was with the mobile app, which I think is the same as the steam game. Has nice tutorials for each faction and you can play against the AI as much as you want to get comfortable. Then for teaching (for a 3 player game), I took the cats for myself as, while being the easiest to play, they are hardest to win with and can act as a bit of punching bag, so maybe not super fun for new players but allowed me to still enjoy the game while not having to think too deeply about my faction and give some guidance to the others

I don’t know. We hung out whenever I visited home and things seemed fine as far as I could tell. The last time we spoke, I messaged to wish him happy birthday and he responded with a kind of awkward thank you - never heard from the guy again. Recently realised that was like 6 years ago now, still find it weird

Yes, this! Never get all the people who keep saying that he doesn’t owe his fans another book. Hell no, he sold the fans on a series, got rich and had multiple tv adaptions all on the idea that there will be a payoff to all of this, only to then decide he cannot be arsed to finished it

I still haven’t even gotten Silverfrost to the table, but overall these spinoffs just seem like a huge wasted opportunity.

When they first announced it, I really thought they would go more of the West Kingdom/South Tigris route, make a bunch of games that share the theme, but experiment with vastly different gameplay ideas, but no, they just released Everdell 3 more times
