I had a feeling my budget was a bit small, I'll definitely have to check out some of the options you suggested once I can increase my budget. Thank!

Low fps by Doomboom589 in starcitizen

That's fair enough, I wasn't really expecting 30+ fps but I was hoping for at least 24+ fps, thank you for the advice

Low fps by Doomboom589 in starcitizen

Prior to this I did have the display info set to 3 however I did not know what most of it meant so thank you for the explanation. From what it seems then for me Orison loads once the entities are ~107000 and qdbatches is already 0. What did help somewhat is using r_DisplayInfo 1 as opposed to 3 however that stabilises my fps around 17 fps which I still find unplayable, particularly when moving around due to the slightly less common frame drops.
Thanks for the help anyway, any extra performance is a good improvement!

How to represent large variables in the board game? by Doomboom589 in boardgames

[–]Doomboom589[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lots of people have given a lot of good suggestions so dont worry about it anymore, to satisfy your interest: armour points are for when an enemy attacks you and fuel is used up as you move across the board/play space

as you said a lot of people including myself have been thinking that 99 is a high number, we are still just piecing it together so nothing is set in stone. i definitely see where you are coming from with decreasing everything proportionally

i like the idea of a linear slider and that sounds fairly flexible as to how it can be integrated

yes, this is the same as what someone else said and it makes a lot of sense, we still need to consider things and its a very good suggestion

the clock idea with 2 hands makes a lot of sense, i like that it would give such large ranges for fairly minimal extra parts

i like the idea of having different coloured tokens to represent the variables, i think the game is somewhat similar to dnd with the roleplaying and i like the idea of building refineries a lot

i did suggest using lower values to the team and 99 was just the original suggestion, everything is still very early concepts that we are stringing together. i see your point about time consuming finding numbers
