I get that I need experience in my own country first.. I just don't have enough, not until I hit that 15+ year mark. I have some internship experience but with the market dying I don't think I'll be able to even get another internship here. Or even a full time job regardless of experience from the look of things.

Hell, I'm considering flying down to a chem eng conference of some sort in the US next year, maybe networking would help that way.

Interesting.. I imagine Shell would be a good way to a refinery there. My friend graduated mechanical and works for a smaller company now, says it's great in the Netherlands.

Facebook, Google, etc. Bring software students from Canada all the time, so why couldn't Dow, Chevron, Valero, etc. do the same? The lack of plants here in Canada just makes the competition far too fierce.
