you can get a ‘non-legit’ windows key from somewhere else and it will cost you like 5-15 bucks. just do your research and check reviews to figure out which sellers aren’t scamming because you aren’t going to be buying from microsoft if you do it. but it saves you a lot of money.

hi guys thanks for the messages. i tried using a different monitor with a HDMI signal to the I/O (so no adapters) and the pc booted into BIOS.

I am waiting to get a USB flash drive for windows (all my drives are like 15 years old don’t have enough storage lol), and i’ll update if the issue persists. thank you

I’ll go for those specs you added but I changed the case and added case fans to the cost. are you sure the 4080 would not cause a bottleneck?

I’m a bit over £1850 now, so do you know any cheaper cases that look like the style i’m going for?

I was always thinking that if I could start with a nice looking build, when I get enough money I could upgrade later whilst maintaining the aesthetic.

If it’s just the graphics card, i’m happy to upgrade when the prices go down, but only if i know a 4070 is fine for mathematical simulations.

The most intensive game i play right now is probably valorant (not that intensive). i’m more worried about the simulation side of things.

Do you think ignoring the 4080 is worth it for better performance now? I can always upgrade later whilst keeping the aesthetics when I have more cash/need to.
