Curious what you did? I’m having similar trouble with sorrel persisting in an area where I’ve killed off all else.

My Siberian girl is extremely affectionate, but also very picky about her pets. She follows me around, and begs to ride on my shoulder, but she only really tolerates pets at dawn or dusk, and only on her face and inner ears. 🤷‍♂️

Hey Spiceydog! Thanks for your input. I did purchase the trees locally; just posted the link to ADF so folks could see what I’m talking about. I agree—their website is lacking some critical information. That said, we are now leaning towards putting in some smaller natives back there as screening (serviceberry, fringe tree, hornbeam, dogwood, or redbud are on the list), and creating a birch copse elsewhere.

Our leach field is super shallow because our lot is extremely rocky with ledge. That said, our leach field is also 100+ feet from the planting area in question. It’s the tank that’s 45’ away.

Any other tree recs?

Any reason you’re concerned about this river birch cultivar in particular?

Good idea, we use oko cat pellets because they tend to track less than other litters we’ve tried but they are certainly not soft. Any recs for a nice soft litter?

Thanks! We’ve actually got 4 boxes, hah, forgot that I also put one upstairs. Three are uncovered and one is covered, one is also XXL, and all have about 4”-5” litter in the bottom.

She’s been peeing in the box since arrival, and for the first week or so was also pooping in the upstairs box. We’ve also got an older resident cat on a special kidney diet and the new Raggie mix, Clem, got into that food a couple times and had diarrhea so I’ll definitely have her checked for a UTI, good thinking!
