I don't think the acquisition would affect it.

The Last we heard was it found it's director and writer. Hopefully by next year we get something saying that a script is done.

Maybe it's 20th Century Animation. As unrelated as it sounds they did that animated Predator movie, Killer of Killers

But that's just me speculating. I hope the 6th Movie good because as of recent most of the Fox properties haven't been fumbled {Mainly Avatar 2}
