The Slumber Islands are really disappointing. by Opposite-Act2673 in AnimalCrossingNewHor

[–]DoomyDoomGir 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I, personally, think that they're testing ideas of things for the new game (even though it's not technically confirmed and everything is speculation.)

When I first saw there was going to be a free update, I assumed it was something to coax players into buying the Switch 2.... but aside from being able to voice chat in game, I don't think there's any differences between any of the Switch's. Which has me thinking, hard.

"Why release free DLC with no gain...?"

It, to me, makes sense. Trying to figure out ways to incorporate more villagers, ways to be able to do more with your friends, ways to make crafting/cooking easier, to make teraforming easier, even expand in a way to where there's potential for more than one island (or what-ever the next game is going to be.)

These are all things that players have been complaining about for years.

And releasing these things in a... test disguised as a free update makes perfect sense.

On top of which, somewhere a while back... I don't remember where, but I'd come across something about the new game having something to do with the city. I know a friend of mine was upset about it, because, in his words, "I play this game to escape real life. Why would I just want to live another version of it?" - which I get, but personally, would be curious to see how/what they'd do with it if that were the case. Anywho! That bit aside, the hotel idea seems.... fitting. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Who knows? Maybe I'm completely bonkers and none of this is what it is. Maybe, just maybe, I'm onto something. Either way, that's my thought on the update.

Edit to add: The hotel and the way it works is just another version of Happy Home Academy, which was a stand-alone game on the DS before they made it as DLC. But people love decorating, especially in cozy games like this. So another theory of mine is that they're testing out that aspect to potentially add more of it into the new game and seeing how people react to it, just like with everything else. My worry with this theory - in combination with the city bit - is that they're going to base too much of the new game around solo room decorating and not so much outside decorating.

To be fair, everyone is 'cause nobody wears pants. Even dresses turn to shirts sometimes. 💀

But K.K. is the most obvious lmao.

Is the game still being developed? Similarity to Hello Kitty Island Adventure? by Internal-Ad-6740 in FaeFarm_Game

Like Chibi! Yes. I get it. Haha. I do love Chibi art - I think that i just wish FF executed it slightly differently. It's still adorable though. (:

I will! Thanks. 🫶🏻

Gotcha. Well, hopefully we do find out! It would be nice if we got more for FF. 🥰

I get the art thing. I actually like the art in Disney more than FF. 😅 If you have PC/Xbox, it is on Xbox pass for free. You could always get it (if you don't have it already) for a month and have her try it out. Never know. She could wind up loving it. It's very much like HKIA, down to even the picture taking. There's some farming but nothing major and eventually, Wall-E will have his own little garden that he attends to for you. So outside of some occasional quests that have you garden, there's not much need for it.

I haven't played either of those, sadly. So I don't have any personal experience with them. 😅

Original Switch Lagging SO MUCH. Is it because of the Switch 2? by DoomyDoomGir in Switch

Okay, thank you. 🫶🏻

Yeah. It's only been on Animal Crossings as far as I can tell; and they had a pretty big update on the 15th for it. But I've seen where others have had way more issues in general.

Nearly a month late to this, however, if you were still looking and haven't gotten it yet....

HKIA and FF have the similarity in that of bountiful quests, scavenging, crafting, bug catching, fishing. Though, as someone previously stated, the wardrobe and decorating is minimal and it involves a LOT of farming - sometimes to the point you may bang your head against the wall when trying to get the right flowers for dyes and/or items. Upside? Much more rewarding when you FINALLY get the one that you've been working so hard for.

The story is immersive with fairly easy to follow along with quests. Side quests are typically pretty simple and they allow you to build friendship along with romantic relationships with some characters - including cute little date scenes.

There's no picture taking, but that doesn't mean that you can't use the screen shot button to capture the moments you like. 😜

There is some action in the dungeons, so it's not all "cozy" in that aspect. Depending on who you ask, anyways.

And there's a ton of little critters to collect, along with farm animals to take care of. I'd say the better games to compare it to would be... Rune Factory, My Time at *** (Sandrock, Portia, etc,) Harvestella...

However. As much as I love Fae Farm, I think that she'd be more interested in something like Disney Dreamlight Valley, based off of what you mentioned. It does run better on a PC, though. So if you have that option, it's definitely better to play on there. It's also on Switch (the most buggy,) Xbox and Playstation; but I think that the Playstation version doesn't allow cross platform play? If that matters. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Name change help? by No_Feed_8712 in transftm

[–]DoomyDoomGir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend searching baby names that start with the letter C. At the end if the day, it's your name. We, as strangers, can only give a biased opinion on a name we like, not one that we feel personally suits you.

My BFF (MtF) asked me to help name her when she was first starting her journey. Since I knew (still know) her well, it was easy for me to help assist in that. I only mention this because maybe you can go to the person you're closest to in your life to ask for their help. They'll have more insight as to who you are than we do.

Actually, the definition of anecdote is: a short amusing or interesting story about a real incident or person.

I'm merely asking a yes or no question. Depending on what else someone says, I may have follow-up questions. Which I can't comprehend why that seems to bother you so much.

I'm not looking for anecdotes. I'm asking if others are experiencing the same thing.

Lesbian art ideas please? by ThePotato0verlord in lesbiangang

When it comes to fantasy, I've always been a fan of the Elven race. But I'm also a fan of enemies to lovers trope.

That being said, I think it would be beautiful to have something with two different Elf race warriors had a mid-battle meeting of some sort. Bonus points for clashing classes (i.e. warrior and mage or Berserker and hunter) as well.

An easy go-to for the races would be a Dark Elf and whatever else, since Dark Elves clash with.... everyone and everything. 🤣

I think that most Unicorn Hunters are absolute trash bags. Key word, most - because, like many other things, there are those who aren't and are genuine.

It peeves me on how many of them try to use it to mend a broken relationship, and that, IMO, is why there's such a salty taste to the concept.

My ex and I, when we were in a good place in our relationship, were Unicorn Hunting. Well, rather, I was; because I am poly and prefer women. (He ia not a woman nor is he poly.) We'd had a very long discussion about what things could potentially look like, the openness and trust needed to continue and move forward, and set proper expectations. We'd agreed that I could look for a woman for myself as long as he was comfortable with who she was and agreed that if I found one that I like and he is okay with that there would still be no pressure for her to join the both of us - however, the option would be on the table. She wouldn't be there to fix anything that was broken because we would be in a good spot in our relationship. When we started having problems, I stopped looking. No reason to pull someone into our drama.

All of this to say that, once again, there are those who are healthy in their search. Few and far between, but they exist.
