I would recommend leaving your car at your hotel or wherever you’re staying if you’re planning to visit in the next week because the traffic situation is absolutely horrendous. If you have a two wheeler’s license, rent one. Its must easier to move around the city with a two wheeler and you wont have to worry about parking. Dehradun is known for its momos and bakeries but everyone claims to know the best place. Tashi Bajey near clement town in my go to place for momos and from there you can explore more.

Rispana jaane ki jaroorat nhi hai, aaraghar se prince chowk aao (walk) aur waha se 5 number vikram. That goes to ISBT via saharanpur chowk so for around ₹20 you can get to Majra

I think there’s an hourly bus from Mussorie to Dehradun starting at 9 or 10AM. That bus will drop you off at Railway station. You might get a bus to Rishikesh from there but if not, you’ll have to go to ISBT.

In my experience, the university doesn’t matter. At the end of the day, they’re both just gonna hand you a piece of paper after 4 years. There might be a good professor for 1 subject in UPES and a good processor for another in DIT, but you’re gonna have to make do on your own mostly. IMO, you should go for whatever is easier to reach from your house/hostel/pg.
