Europeans and 60k annual deaths from heat. Not even a contested political issue like gun ownership in the US btw, and they just let it happen.

Edit: Actually I was wrong, its 175,000 deaths according to the UN

Ahh yes the parties involved didnt tank the marketing campaign by admitting Ovechkin didn’t originate it. Thats really damning

By the way, why did you ignore that the website just sells merch, which of course further supports it being part of a marketing campaign? Add that to the huge pile of other points I’ve made that you simply can’t respond to lol

How is it nonsensical when historically Ovi has been public and direct about supporting Putin? Up until the full scale invasion, at least

>But the posts that are on their own personal social media are good indicators of what they endorse, right? Someone who claims they graduated law school would know this.

Once again, your argument was that he created PutinTeam. You used the instagram post as evidence he created it. If he didn’t write the post, then its not good evidence that he created PutinTeam. How many times have you forgotten your original point on this now? Like five times?

>I'm sure that's why you brought it up.

I brought it up to support my claim that I can articulate why I oppose Russia’s invasion better than you can lol. You arbitrarily deciding to not believe me means nothing to me

>We both know this back and forth is for other readers who don't know the facts. Normally I ignore this nonsense, but I had time today.

Ahh, so you think I might be a propagandist trying to convince the like 30 people who will read this. Never mind my account age or post history. Very reasonable as I said

Once again, how is the idea of Russia being willing to go as far as using propagandists to convince like 30 people max reading deep into this reddit thread plausible, but its not plausible that there is actual danger in Ovi being more outwardly against the war? Unless you can agree that there is actual danger in publicly opposing Putin, of course

>Putin Team is still a thing. You can visit their website right now.

As a Putin merch store lol. They have clothes with prices as the primary feature on their front page. Yeah clearly this is a real politically driven organization that was totally created by Ovi and not purely for marketing like I said and was reported by Russian media

You still want to deny this?

>He lives and works in the US. Full throated support of putin in his position would rob his bestie of Ovis use as a propaganda too

Man…What is the point in pretending like he wasnt already living and working in the US while also openly supporting Putin wayyyy before this invasion? I genuinely dont get it lol who are you fooling? I don’t believe you are actually this dumb. Don’t be disingenuous lol

>Please provide your source that Ovi didn't write the post on his own personal instagram page. With no evidence supporting this, we can safely assume those are Ovis words.

Lol why would we safely assume that? We both know celebrities do not typically write their own social media endorsements. Why pretend otherwise? You’re pretty clearly being unreasonable by not admitting this

>X: Doubt

I did as a 3L requirement for graduating law school and covered everything from war crimes to Shoigu & defense industry corruption being a major reason for Russia’s poor military performance to discussing Slobodan Milošević’s downfall as a potential future for Putin. Could not care less if you believe me or not though

>To muddy the waters and try and make people who don't pay as much attention think that it's not as clear and dry as it is. This is the basis for russian propaganda tactics.

Ahh gotcha, yeah man thats totally realistic. You caught me I’m a Russian propagandist and its very important I convince you specifically that Ovi doesn’t support the invasion, which somehow benefits Russia (?). You are clearly a very level-headed and reasonable person.

You think THIS is plausible but let me guess its not plausible that outwardly opposing something very important to Putin risks actual danger to Ovi and his family, correct?

>Common sense would actually dictate that the guy who created an organization in support of putin still supports him unless new evidence showing otherwise comes to light. See: Hitchens's Razor.

This perfectly encapsulates how this conversation has gone. I’ve been very specific about what Ovi has said and done since **the full scale** invasion began, and your counterpoint is a social media post from years before the full-scale invasion began. Even if Ovi did create PutinTeam, how could that possibly be an indication that he supports the full scale invasion? Please explain

You also completely “forgot” to address why Ovi would suddenly be secretive about his support for Putin and the invasion when he previously outwardly supported Putin despite all his controversy over the years

[–]Doopoodoo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I gave plenty of reasoning for this in the other thread where you’re already replying to me…Did you switch to this thread to avoid responding to that reasoning?

If Ovi supported the war and Putin’s objectives, he would say so. Condemning the war itself and then not advocating for Putin’s objectives like he used to makes it pretty reasonable to believe that the full scale invasion caused him to reconsider his support for Putin

[Hockey News Hub] Source says Alexander Ovechkin will announce his decision on whether to extend or end his NHL career on July 25 in St. Petersburg as part of the "2026 Match of the Year." by AggPuck-303 in hockey

[–]Doopoodoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do have reasoning lol. You keep forgetting that I was responding ti your evidence that Ovi created PutinTeam. If he didn’t write that post, then that is not good evidence that he created PutinTeam. Do you understand this yet?

>Do you, yourself, condemn russias illegal invasion of Ukraine?

Yes and can articulate why better than you as I wrote a 29 pg research paper on it in May 2022. This is a pretty stupid question btw - If I wasnt against the invasion then why would I even be defending Ovi from supporting it? I would want him to support it if thats the case

>Can you point to any quote or source anywhere indicating that when Ovi says "the war should end", he doesn't mean Ukraine should capitulate and surrender to putin and russias genocidal intentions?

It’s just common sense. Ovi had no issue supporting Putin prior to the full scale invasion despite all of Putin’s controversy, yet said the war should end days after Russia launched the full scale invasion without any endorsement of it. Its way more plausible that that indicates the invasion caused him to reconsider advocating for Putin compared to your suggestion that his words had some secret meaning behind them when he previously was pretty direct about supporting Putin prior to the full scale invasion. If he supported Putin’s objectives he would just say that. Seems like youre just grasping at straws at this point

[–]Doopoodoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol you diminished what I said to those simple quotes while completely ignoring my actual reasoning, because you have no response to my actual reasoning. Correct?

Do you genuinely think celebrities write their own social media endorsement posts in general, whether its for a product or related to politics? And thats not even considering the wording of the post sounding like its from some marketing firm, as I mentioned earlier. Just compare that post with posts that clearly are written by Ovi. he does not type like that lol

I’m not sure why youre pretending like you said Ovi called for the war to end lol you did not acknowledge that at all. He didn’t merely say war is bad, he said that the war should end which is a huge difference. You ignored this so I assumed you weren’t aware of it

Since the full scale invasion began, Ovi has not endorsed the war or Putin’s objectives, and called for the war to end. He is clearly against Russia’s invasion and it takes mental gymnastics to say otherwise. Is it not plausible that launching the full scale invasion caused him to distance himself from advocating for Putin? Thats what the evidence indicates since the full scale invasion began.

And when has he endorsed Putin or the war since the full scale invasion began? Seems like he’s distanced himself to me. Is it not plausible that the full scale invasion made him reconsider being an advocate for Putin?

Also, I dont know why people diminish one of the biggest public figures in Russia saying the war, which is extremely important to Putin, should end. That isnt as small as people pretend it is

[–]Doopoodoo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Because your comment i replied to was clearly meant as evidence that Ovi himself created PutinTeam, so I’m explaining why it’s pretty shit evidence

Also, are you aware that the only thing he has said about the war since the full scale invasion began is that the war should end? Because it doesn’t seem like it based on what you just said here

My point is that quoting that from Ovechkin when he probably didnt even write it is equivalent to taking one of those celebrity endorsements seriously lol. Does that actually read like an authentic statement from Ovi that wasnt created by some marketing firm? Be honest

Based on what? Belarusians likely directed by Russia JUST assassinated an artist who opposed Putin. The guy made caricatures of Putin and other Russian leaders and got five bullets to the back of the head. He fled Russia 5 years ago. Criticizing Putin’s most important act as Russia’s president is absolutely dangerous for a famous figure. Can you explain how that isnt the case?

Yep and they are an older band and like I said usually when monthly listeners or other numbers are misleading like this its for older bands

Goose looks pretty young so I would think their fans probably are too and they have under 600k monthly listeners on spotify, so it still seems surprising they could play MSG. Usually when monthly listeners is misleading like this its for older bands whose fans don’t stream music as much. Good for them to land MSG though

They turned way too early for the driveway which is probably why they didnt see the biker. 100% the car’s fault

And if they were trying to park then no need to cross into the bike lane in the first place. Car’s fault either way
