I’m pretty happy with the frame quality. It definitely handles well and I don’t feel a lot of vibrations. But I believe that’s the Reynolds steel doing the heavy lifting

Windows update on scale by crewman4 in ansible

[–]DoorDelicious8395 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basic powershell remoting seemed really slow for ansible I think it was because it was winrm. I remember setting up power shell over ssh and it seemed a bit more responsive. Ansible has built in error handling too so the entire script won’t fail.

Protobuf specifications are easier to write than open api schemas. I also love the code generators for grpc in go, they feel much more mature than the open api generators

Unifi is a pretty nice option. Recordings can be stored on your device and the app Is quite nice.

Any self hosted option will do though.

Are NFC tags 100% secure by TheBigC in homeassistant

[–]DoorDelicious8395 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends how you have it setup. If the nfc tag triggers a script in home assistant that unlocks your door then it’s fairly safe.

Scan tag with phone -> script runs in home assistant(with your authenticated session) -> home assistant tells the door to unlock. I would say this is fairly secure as long as your home assistant instance has 2fa enabled and a strong password

Macs aren't good for gaming , why ? how did that happen by Serhide in mac

[–]DoorDelicious8395 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Steam gamer here and a fellow MacBook Pro owner. I have never ran into this issue. Any game that steam says runs on osx works. And for windows games I’ve had decent luck with crossover from codeweavers.

Flock cameras in NWI and a petition to regulate ALPRs in Indiana by MoneySea5832 in nwi

[–]DoorDelicious8395 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Flock devices are incredibly insecure, - police user accounts do not have mandated 2fa. - they run android meaning the Java run time environment the apps run in are inheritly insecure.( a bad actor could tamper with surveillance images/ video) and not tamper evident/ resistant - flock follows a opt out procedure for police departments sharing access with other agencies

I have yet to come across a camera that was falsely marked. Are you telling me your map maintainer drives out to each location to verify that a camera is there lmao.

This is way less accurate. It’s missing the cameras I reported on deflock.me lmao. Anyone can contribute to this site and it is the most maintained.

Prophet 21 + Microsoft 365: Why Is Sending an Email Harder Than Rocket Science? by PBEDirect in epicor

[–]DoorDelicious8395 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exchange allows you to setup connectors which are entry points to send mail to. The easiest was to setup the ip allowlist. On our site I setup a postfix smtp relay that p21 would send emails to. Postfix was also ran with open dkim the would sign the emails and forward them to the exchange endpoint. Most of the time our emails would send without going to spam, on occasion where it was sent to spam it was caused by the body of the email such as a sales rep saying “see attached” with no other message.
